How far is the technology of cloning dogs? Is there a company that can preserve your dog's DNA, for possible future cloning of your dog?

they can clone your dog
there is a company storing dna
its really expensive and the results are not a carbon copy of your current dog

each dog is the product of dna PLUS the exact environment or the exact space and time,

if you fix all the mistakes you made with your current dog, you will have a very different pet

Cloning technology gets better all the time. A lot of livestock and fruit trees are clones.

But I wouldn't clone the dog. It will not be the same dog! (more like a twin than a copy.) His personality may be completely different, and there are still no real conclusions about the long term health of cloned animals. You'd be better off to just find a new dog you can love!

I think cloning is weird, when something happens to a dog that you have loved for so long nothing is going to take that pain away no even having a dog cloned from them.

There is.. But it's not going to be a carbon copy of your dog personality wise.. Personality is built thru environment, socialization etc. Unless you can recreate your current dogs life exactly again, you will never have an exact of your current dog.
