Eukanuba petite bites puppy food, they love it. Get it at Petsmart. Make sure he's eating something, these pups can get hypoglycemic and die if they are not eating enough. Feed free choice and keep water available at all times. Buy a yorkie book too. These are the sweetest of all the breeds....but you cannot leave them for extended periods, they are neurotic dogs.

I have a three year old yorkie, also a male. He weighs 4 and half pounds. i buy food right from the vet, yorkies tend to have sensitive stomachs, if i give mine scraps or wet food he gets sick, i've even tried him with cheaper food, Rosco might be different, but because there so little talk to your vet they'll suggest something good

Yeah. Always feed just normal, dry dog food. Look for something that has meat as the first ingredient. You don't want to feed him something with corn or other junk as the first one. Don't fall into the trap of feeding soft food either. Lots of people feed their little dogs soft food, and of course they like it. BUT.... it will literally rot their teeth. The dogs need the hard food to scrape their teeth clean. Trust me, I used to vet tech, and all the old, little dogs had no teeth left because of that.

DOG FOOD. Dogs can't digest food as easily as you may think. Raw hide for one is very popular but they can't digest it. You can't change a dogs diet quickly either, even if you stick to the same brand but change the flavor-you have to do it slowly. Flavor is usually a personality thing. Find what applies to your dogs age and size.
Never give them:
onions
grapes/raisins
chocolate
(forgot the rest) or he might die

dogs eat dog food. If he is under a year old he needs to be eating puppy food, if he is over a year old he can eat adult food. Dry brown kibble is best but you may need to add a little canned food also

Try Eukbena, or Iams. Also get soft easy to chew treats and plenty of machine pressed chews (machine pressed chews are safer and healthier, my dog luvs 'em!)
