I got my hair permed at 3pm yesterday... I was told to wait 48 hours before washing. The thing is, ITS SOOO ITCHY! Im the kind of person that has to wash her hair every morning because its greesy... I think thats whats causing it. I want to wash it at 10:30am before class tomorrow, but its not quite 48 hours... will it really lose curl? ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!

Don't do it unless you want your money you spent on that perm to go right down the drain! It WILL loose curl! What you can do is rinse it out under the tap and use a conditioner, just not shampoo. Or use a leave in conditioner for curly hair. That may help alleviate your itching.

if you wash it ,it will mess the curls up they actually say 48 to 72 hours my friend and i got a perm the same day once but she had washed her hair after 35 hours and her curls got mess up, the top was stright and the ends were curly , and i waited 72 and its been 6 months and my hair is still really curly. I LOVE IT

You can wash your hair but it is best to wait the amount of time specified so the hair is sure to keep the perm intended...yes, we all get that itchy, gross feeling...try to hold off as long as you can...otherwise the perm will be weakened

i think that the 48 hours is just a guideline, i mean a few hours before will not hurt anything, and i think that since you are itching, then wash it, because you dont want those chemicals just sitting there on your head.

you'll kill your perm and it will look like crap. just bear with the itch for a few more hours.
