My friend's parents play favorites majorly with her brother and it is really starting to take a toll on her. They have always done it but in the past year or so it has gotten worse. He started middle school and began getting bullied and starting skipping a lot and just plain going downhill. His parents still adore him though. And he started taking out his anger on his sister,my friend.Tonight he decided to take her camera and laptop and throw them against a door then throw trash all over her room. She tried to tell her parents and they think she just did it to get him in trouble.Though why anyone would throw a new laptop and camera that they love to pieces to get their brother in trouble is beyond me.Her dad took the laptop away and gave it to her brother.Good punishment for him I thought.
I don't know what to do or say anymore. And I know she is just as lost.So I'm hoping somebody on here would have some suggestions.

Oh and by the way,I don't care to hear the old worn out line of "Maybe she deserves it." or "Maybe she isn't as good as you think."
I know for a fact that's not true and I'd rather you not waste my time.

She is 15 and her parents never listen to her.She has tried it multiple times. And I really can't get into it.I tell her what I think might help and I listen.

This is going to sound pretty biased too,but she is from Guam and from what I know, the boys are still more loved. And from what she's told me too.

Just listen to her and be her friend. Parent's aren't perfect, and it seems in this case they REALLY aren't perfect. If they knew the truth they would probably be upset they are hurting her. Suggest she try to get it on camera or something to prove to them. Just tell her to remember this and how it feels and try not to be that way if she ever becomes a parent. It is one of the hardest things in the world to raise a child, especially more then one. It sounds like they feel sorry for the boy and aren't thinking clearly because of it.

why doesn't she just try to talk to her parents? how old is this friend? doesn't sound like proper parenting if they just think she trashed her own stuff very odd situation, don't try and meddle in it thats not a very bright move just try and be there for your friend.
