First you do not mention his medical problems or limited mobility, Evidently you are very young, you will have to ask you mom and dad, you see when you get older, everything inside you weakens and are beyond your control, this too has to be embarrassing for your grandfather. My wife works in a hosp, We have to this day know many of older ppl who have to wear what you call diapers.I myself had major surgery, and found myself in the same arena, lasted for about 4 months till things got back to notmal. So please don't judge him on being lazy until you find out the real reason ok

well i'm not sure of his situation but i' sure it is not because he sits around all day did you ever relize that he sits around all day because maybe he is weak and his body may be his mucsles and joints are still and are in pain-i really don't know but if he's an older grandpa he probably doesn't have the enegy like alot of young people have he already used all of it up in his younger days-but the most logical answer to your question is his bladder may be weak and can't hold anything in long and-may not even know when he is going or isn't fast enough to make it to the restoom in time-

More than likely he has a condition that causes him to not feel he has to urinate/defacate until it is too late or with little time to reach the bathroom. It is also possible that he can no longer hold his urine/feces due to loss of muscle control or a condition of the colon, prostate, bladder ect. There are alot of different reasons that adults have to go back to wearing depends adult undergarments.

I wish my grampa-in-law would have been willing to wear them - if yours is like mine it is because he is incontinent, and possibly suffers from painfully swollen feet, common in old age, especially for diabetics, and being sedentary makes it worse.
I wish I could've changed diapers instead of trying to wash him and his chair and the floor...

He probably has a bladder control problem and he cannot make it to the restroom fast enough to relieve himself. This usually happens to the elderly and has nothing to with being lazy.

as we get older we have less control of our muscles...one of the first to weaken is the muscle surrounding our bladder and urine output (urethra)....these weaken and we start to dribble and can't make it to the bathroom on time...so instead of him peeing all over the place and smelling like pee, he wears a diaper, or incontinence brief so he can lead more of a normal life, and so not everyone knows he is 'incontinent'...this is what its called when you loose your muscle control of the bladder and urethra....

Probably due to the fact he no longer as control of his body functions?Or maybe he just can't make it to the potty on time?I guess diapers are better than scrubbing poo out of his panties?!

he has incontinence, a weakening or loss of bladder control. It's a medical condition we're all likely to experience at some point.

He may have a weak bladder. The muscles that enable him to hold his urine or bowels may not be strong enough for him to make it to the bathroom.
