Honestly I would ask the guy if it was okay if he told my bestfriend the truth and didn't make her feel in love and then get kicked to the curb. You should also tell your friend that ur kinda feelin this guy (if you are) then ask her if its alrite if you start seeing him. If she says "no" then just drop the guy cuz i bet he's not worth a friendship...I don't think you're betraying her, just don't wait too long to do what u gotta do

Don't date the guy, there are lots of guys out there and not enough best friends. It's definalty not worth a friendship for someone you just met.
The best thing to do would be to tell the guy that you know your friend likes him and out of respect for her nothing can happen between the two of you.

obviously, after reading your story, i believe you're not betraying your bestfriend. he just happened to have more interest on you than your friend.it is actually always happen in friendship where you think you're cheating to your friend but actually your not.and when the guy is also in love with you, it is totally okay. just don't hide this matter from your bestfriend's knowledge.
i just want to warn you here that maybe the guy just actually having fun with both of you.you better check it out.ask your bestfriend about it.

He's obviously NOT worth giving up a best friend for! He started out by betraying her...and you're next. If you lose your best friend to date him, and then a week or so later you guys break up, it would not be worth it!! Tell him your situation, and tell him you won't do that to your best friend. If he really cares, he'll understand...and maybe even wait for you!

you should forget about the guy. it's not worth losing your best friend over. i'd tell her that you'd been in communication with the guy so that she doesnt find out later and freak out on you and blame you for him dumping her. get out of this now before it gets any deeper

Friends don't do that to each other --- you should never let a guy come between you and your girlfriend --- forget him -- there's other guys out there. And he's no catch if he's playing both of you.
