insulting you and firing you in a rude and defensive way? I stood up for myself but didnt' argue or get defensive. I know that someone of character wouldn't fire someone that way and so I feel relieved that I am no longer there. But I wonder, why would she fire me so rudely and insultingly?

Because they lack the professionalism and self control to do it properly. They probably fired you out of frustration of you doing something repeatedly wrong, but never had the balls to fix the problem when it started, leading to their own anger. That is just a scenario but angry people are usually pent up about something. It may not have been to do with you at all. Unfortunately you have to let it go for your own sake or you'll go mad trying to read minds of others.

Maybe she's of the feeling that you should do things her way-or no way. She may feel that she is always right and when confronted with a possible mistake etc, she retaliates rather than improves. Maybe she's arrogant. Maybe she sees you advancing and is jealous. Could be that she's having other problems in life and you just got caught in the middle of things...she took out some of her frustration on you. Best Wishes.

Some bosses are just ar$eholes. The reasons for that likely have nothing to do with you, but rather something within them.

Don't try to understand irrational behaviour of others. It will only drive you batty.

HER problem, not yours. She clearly lacks managment/people skills. There is no good reason for her actions.

Forget about it and move on.

Good luck.
