It is said in the Bible that the world will going to end (2 Peter 3:9-13) and He will replace it with New Heaven and New Earth. But the Question is WHEN will that happen...?
Learn from the signs (Matthew 24:3,4-13) Can you see these things now? There is only ONE SIGN left, The Great Tribulation. And after that, will the world going to end? NOT YET. After that The Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Noticed that the disciples ask two different things, THE SIGN OF HIS COMING and THE END OF THE WORLD.
It is the coming of the Lord that is near, not the End of the World. Because when The Lord returns, He will reign a thousand years with His saints (Rev. 20:4) and the Gospel will be preached in all the nations of the world, before the world ends and be replaced by a new one.
This is just an idea of it. Sorry I cannot detail it all to you because this topic - The End Of The World, Coming of Jesus Christ, The Judgment Day, is a very vast topic. And I don't want to answer you from my own opinion. It is a question of faith, so it must be answer scripturally, from the Bible, from the words of God.
And I'm not "the one" that can explain this to you...

If you believe in God, read your bible honey. Your sister in law is right when she says there are alot of comparisons in regards to the bible and what is happening in the world today, but you can't live your life in fear of what might happen tomorrow. If you do that, then your life is already over honey. I don't fear death, but you can bet that I'm not going to be the one running for it either. I love life, and I live it to the fullest. I greet the day with a smile and wish the moon goodnight with my children. I have no worries, our demise is not in our hands. Nothing we can do or say can change what happens in our futures. Sure we can alter our course, but the path to where we are going remains the same. Take what your sister in law says lightly. Grabbing a rosary and hiding under the covers isn't going to save you from anything. When your time is up, it's up. Just keep that in mind, also keep in mind that not everything written in the bible is complete truth either. There are many people who have proven things otherwise. I'm a Roman Catholic, that bible is suppose to be my roadmap of life. If I did every crazy thing in there, I'd be locked up in a looney bin somewhere. It's meant to be more of a guideline than the book of life. But you'll never know that unless you read it and make your own judgement.

Well were in the toenails of time. I'm not saying yes and I'm not saying no. I'm saying I don't know. Ha that rhymes but yeah... I mean my friend said that too. Because some teacher from my old school died and so many bad stuff is always on the news and so many gothics, criminals, and emos though I'm an emo...God said the end could happen any time. Probably even in ten seconds so believe now people!

The Earth and it's People's will never End.
The End of the World everybody (most) are Scared of is Really when Jesus comes back and Locks up the Devils (satans angels).
Now, there is agonna be Wars and Rumour's of Wars, there will be some Destruction's too, Earthquakes so on, BUT the Earth will not be Destroyed with all of it's Peoples.
Isn't that Good News?
YES---after the Devils are Locked up there will be 1000 Years of Peace on the Earth for those that are on the Earth and the New-Comers (babies).

The big players on the world scene are lining up exactly as the prophets predicted. America will not be a factor, for they are not mentioned in the prophetic events. With the worlds hatred towards America we can assume we will be destroyed (either by an enemy or disintegrate from within) or reduced to a third world nation. the world will end in 500 billion years when the sun engulfs it. saying the world is going to end is just a recruitment tool people use to make religion worth wild. tell her about the millerits, the world was supposed to end in 1844 according to them, or david karesh, he said armagedeon was at hand, remember the whole y2k thing, whatever happened to that? if she convinces you would you go to church all the time (if you don't already)? the only reason why it would seem that the world is ending is because of mass media, we know when something happens on the other side of the world instantly, in the past we never knew unless it happened close by.

There's a lot of non-sensical things in the Bible that can be interpreted in a million different ways. Some people manage to look for ways to match those things up with modern events and then say it's evidence of the end of the world.

If it happens tonight, or in 120 years, are you ready? That's really the important question. When Christ returns, it will be in the twinkling of an eye (real fast). That means that there will be no time once we know it's happening to stop at that moment and say "OK, I'll accept you now..." That decision has to happen before - before He returns or before we die - whichever happens first. Either of those situations could be "soon". Don't let it be "too soon".

your sister is exactly right. In the Bible prophesy after prophesy are being fulfilled..signalling for one final event that will take place...the end of the world and the return of Jesus for His people.
Can't you see all around us the world is almost falling apart. Scientists themselves even say that the world isn't going to last much longer with the way we are treating it...it is on the road to complete irreversible ruin!!
Not to mention wars...nuclear wars...that could wipe out the whole human race!!! and natural disasters!
In my opinion, and that of the Bible, this earth (people) would've destroyed itself long ago but God is holding it in check for a purpose.
Right now He is judging everyone as to their love for Him and their true motives etc. And then, when the whole world knows about the Gospel of Jesus, and have made a decision, He will return.
Please listen to what I am telling you for it is very important!!! You may have found out for the first time today or maybe not...but you must make your choice.
Will you listen to God's call today??
