Very good camera, I own one myself. However, 2 new launched cameras are also very good, the Panasonic Lumix FZ 8, which has identical specifications, and the Olympus SP 550 UZ, which has a fantastic 18 X Optical Zoom equivalent to 28 to 504 mm in a 35 mm camera. If you need a compact ultra zoom this is a great one. Not available in India yet, though. Maybe in a month's time.
Also, Sony TODAY launched 2 new Cameras the H-7 and the H-9 with 8.1 megapixels, 15x optical zoom, Face recognistion, and the H-9 also has Night shot. Check them out

I think there's a lot of other better cameras out there. Look at the Canon S3 as well or perhaps even the Sony DSC H2 (the previous version of the camera).

I would suggest Canon to be the best choice in Digital Cameras!...
