Can you cancel a passport application for your child once you signed it?
A friend of mine applied for a passport for his 2 yr. old w/his ex just the other day. Now he fears she will leave the country w/the child once she gets it. Can anyone tell me if it can be canceled before it gets mailed out? If so, how would he go about doing that?

A signed passport application can be cancelled as long as you can still got hold of it.

EVERY EMBASSY HAS ITS OWN RULES. IF HE IS THE ONE WHO HAS SİGNED THE APPLICATION , HE CAN CONTACT THE CONSUL OR THE ASİSTANT OF THE CONSUL AND EXPLAİN THE SİTUATİON AND MAY CANCEL THE APPLİCATİON. BUT IF THEY BOTH HAVE THEİR SİGNİTURE ON THE APPLİCATİON ( I MEAN THE EX ) THEN IT WOULD BE HARD.

It's possible if you can catch it in time... tell her to go back to where she submitted the paperwork and talk to them.
