If your friend lives there, you have to evict him. Meaning you have to check your local laws on how to evict someone and go down to the local court to start the process and give the friend a written notice they are being evicted along with how long they have before they have to leave (that is set by state law). If they don't live there, pick them up and put them out. You can legally remove someone from your property with physical force as long as you don't exceed the minimum force necessary to get the job done.

You'll need some help, but you'll have to do an "intervention". You can call a local rehabilitation center on how to do this, but below are some details:
Gather as many friends and relatives who have been effected by his drunken behavior as you can find, and have a fact-based confrontation at a pre-selected time when you know he will be sober.
State "Either get help or you have to leave this place, I have a right not to be subject to your abuse." DO it out of caring for a sick human being and not any form of revenge, and he'll thank you for it someday.

When your close friends are loaded or drunk. Give them V/8 juice it'll sober them up fairly fast without makeing them sick. It kind of sobers them up, it brings them to their sences.
