I never heard of a GPS chip for dogs but I guess anything is possible. All my dogs are Micro Chip which you use a scanner to read the chip. I have my own scanner but vet and dog pounds has them too to scan your dog. Every dog should be chip. It is the best way to make sure you dog is return to you safe.

I guess I will have to look into this GPS thingy for dogs if there is such a thing.

Do you have a GPS chip or a microchip? Microchips are much more common than GPS tracking - they provide ownership information to animal control agencies and shelters who might pick up a lost dog. The most common microchip is Home Again - but you should have gotten some paperwork from the vet that implanted it that explains what you do next to register your dog.

there is no GPS chip. You do NOT TRACK the dog with it.The micro chip has a specially assigned number that is registered to your dog. All it tells is a number and when you or someone else calls the chip company it show your name address phone number etc.

dont think they have GPS chips for dogs. They have identification chips, my dog has one. The vet has a scanner and can scan the chip and see all of his information such as our names and phone numbers and his medical history. But as for being able to pick it up with a satellite? not possible to my knowledge.
