YES YES YES, My son is in Iraq now and he is not in the same state of mind he was when he went in. We went there to fight the fight so that it doesn't come here but it's been here. We were lax and over confident just as we are now over there. Fighting a fight we can not possibly win and leaving our borders open for anyone. They don't have to fly in they can just walk and we don't do any about it because we are trying to save the oil. We even give them jobs, bank accounts we even give them credit cards so we can even finance our own destruction.

there is a serious chain of command issue with these soldiers. many will leave the army with a less than honorable discharge. you join the military you go to war when you are told to. back in WWII some of these deserters would have been shot on the spot. the military has regulations that are in place for a reason. active duty military speaking out against the war are violating those rules. There are many of the men and women in iraq that are not against the war. they are also the ones who are not willing to violate the oath they took when they enlisted in the military. in every war you will have service men and women that question orders, and question what they are doing in a particular country. they are not told for a reason. the why the what and all the details are a need to know thing and the guys most likely to be caught do not need to know.

While it may seem a very good thing that one should speak his mind, in a military situation it can be dangerous. If I know the person next to me does not support the war, or even worse my leaders NCO's officers do not support the war, how can I safely do my duty or follow any orders given to me. Can I even trust someone who thinks so negatively of what we are doing to do the right thing in a life or death situation.
There are reasons soldiers should not publicly voice political opinions or views on command decisions. It affects morale and is a violation of the UCMJ.
No person will ever know if I am for or against the war.
I am doing my duty as a Soldier in the United States army.

I do believe more soldiers should come forward and do the same because they have been there way too long. If Bush won't listen to us, maybe he will listen to the soldiers that are fighting for our country. My boyfriend will be in training for the Marines soon. He's against war, but hes all in when it comes to fighting for our country. Soldiers need to be heard. They are a part of our country.

No. They are to hard to find. The majority of soldiers are serving with pride. The 60 minutes producers had to ask about 300 serving soldier before they came across a few. Don't get me wrong there are some, you just have to really want a story bad enough to look for the needle in the haystack.

No. Those soldiers don't belong in a war situation where they need to be trusted to protect their fellow servicemen and women. Has your husband stepped forward to proclaim his anti-war sentiments or are you just happily collecting the military paycheck while he keeps silent?

Yes, soldiers should be able to speak out wherever and whenever they please, in uniform or out, on active duty or not.
