A latino man I work with keeps saying Mi Vida when he speaks to me. He says it like maybe it's a pet name or something. I would like to know what he is saying. I asked him, and he smiles at me, and says: "That's for me know, and you to find out." Then he laughs, and goes on with his work like it's no big deal. I would like to go to work tomorrow, and tell him that I found out what it means.
Please help! Thanks in advance to everyone.

Mi vida means "my life". It is something that Spanish speakers say like English speakers might say, "my dear".

Mi Vida literally means: "my life" it is very common in spanish to say this to a woman, usually their wife or girlfriend but also between friends or when somebody likes to show that he likes you. In english it could be something like: my love or honey, it does have sweet and caring connotation though. If he says this to you you can answer: Si, mi amor. (yes, my love...) for example, he will be laughing a lot!! Do not take it too serious, latinos do this all the time, just feel good about this guy liking you.

I think "vida" in Spanish means "life." I think that when someone tellls you that you are his "life," it's a romantic way of saying that you mean everything to him. Check it out. If I am right, my advice is don't get into a competition about who's smart enough to know the word, but act appropriately in response to how you feel about him using such a term of endearment. But I am an old romantic mself. Good luck.

" Mi vida " usually is a term of endearment between two people who love each other, in your case it means he's flirting with you.
