Those of you pushing the non-believers...why do you care? Be happy in your own world and leave others in theirs. Or is it that you can't handle the fact that someone else might be right? You have to pursuade everyone to your side of the fence to justify your own beliefs? WHY do you push so hard? If you care so much about others then get your butts out in the streets and do something about this intolerable world we live in! Guess what? There are drug dealers selling to kids as we speak, someone is getting raped within 50 miles of you right now, murders, robberies, domestic violence.... You know who's committing these crimes? Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics and any other belief system you care to add. No amount of prayer can stop that.
Go out and reach THOSE people! The criminals who REALLY need some redirection.
We have far greater problems then those who don't believe in God.
Ranted a little...sorry, hope you can all find my question in there.

I want to know why people push others to believe what THEY think is right? It sure as heck isn't about "caring" for the good of others.

I come to this section because I am searching for something. There are just some speed bumps throughout my journey that I felt I had to rant about.

I feel sorry for you Don.
You know what? When your family member is raped, murdered, robbed, whatever, it will be ME that catches the criminal, not God.
I have NOTHING to be ashamed of.

You are right about Christians needing to be more effective in reaching the lost. Christians can't stop people from being evil. Jesus can, by changing their hearts, but Christians can't force their beliefs on anybody. We just testify about him and then let God take over. If the people don't want God, he doesn't make them receive him. You think we're trying to force a moral code on society but we aren't, and we weren't told to make everybody behave either. We were told to feed the hungry and comfort the broken hearted and preach the gospel. But you are right in that Christians need to be brighter and saltier. Point taken.

How can you possibly make these statements without being ashamed.Don't you realize why the world is such a terrible place anymore? It's because of people just like you who want to do away with God and encourage ungodliness. When there was prayer in schools and people enjoyed seeing the ten commandments it wasn't the way it is now.You should be out here on your knee's begging forgiveness and telling people about Jesus yourself.Instead you think Christians should be out here cleaning up the mess you made.Shame on you.
You know what if that were to happen my prayer would be that God would forgive them and that He would give me the grace to do the same. You catching them for me wouldn't change a thing.Let God be their Judge and not me.And you needn't feel sorry for me.Your sorry enough already.

No,there is a difference between forcing your beliefs on others (forcing them to believe something) and telling others about your beliefs. If you believe that you have the truth, and it will save others, then you will do everything you can to tell others so that they can be saved too.
And yes,I know quite well what's going on in the world. That's why I volunteer, and do a lot to help.I could say the same thing for you.If you care so much, why are you sitting here on the computer? Why do you even have a computer? Why do you have any leisure time at all? It goes both ways, you know.I just can't believe that you assuem that believers in God do nothing more than try to convert people.
Whatever way you phrasesd this,it's still a rant.

But according to Christian beliefs, not believing in God is the ultimate problem. Christians don't want people to wind up in Hell. We want to try to help lead everyone we can to salvation. No matter what temporary problems exist now, they are nothing compared to an eternity in Hell. That is why we care.
But you're right. Christians should not try to force their beliefs on others. That is wrong and absolutely unbiblical. Jesus never taught any such thing. In fact, he taught the exact opposite - that if people won't listen to you, you are to shake the dust from your feet and move on in search of those who will listen to you.
But I don't think there are very many Christians today who wish to force their beliefs on anyone else. A minuscule minority, probably, but your average Christian only wants you to listen to what they have to say. This whole idea of hoards of Christians trying to force their beliefs on non-believers is a fantasy.

Excellent points all around.
Personally, I do not seek converts at all. I would rather that everybody believe what they want.
But still, free speech is not, and never has been, "forcing your beliefs on others." Using this term is not only inaccurate, it is an insult to those who have actually had beliefs forced on them via persecution, torture, confiscation of property, imprisonment, death threats, etc. As much as I hate it when people pressure me to convert, I dread the day when they no longer have the right to do so.

OK, try to see this from my perspective as a Christian:
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except through Him. I believe that Heaven is real, but then again, so is Hell. Those who don't accept Christ as their Savior are not going to go to Heaven and will suffer for their rejection of Him.
Naturally, I want to see everyone avoid Hell, and so I tell them about Christ's love for them and His death on the Cross as atonement for sin. I won't push my beliefs on you, but if the opportunity comes up and you want to talk about salvation, I'm there to discuss it. I care about what happens to people because I love Jesus, Who paid the ultimate price for our sins.
It's like knowing that someone is in danger and not telling them about it. I'd be responsible if something happened to that person and I hadn't warned them.
So, that's my perspective. I hope that answered your question. . .'cause I'm still looking for it! ;-)

I hope one day you realize that the people who push you to go to church or whatever do it because they love you. I love my church so much, people always being healed, raising of the dead, etc, etc. I want others to share that happiness with me. If i really see they dont want it, i leave it alone. but realize some people do it because its so awesome, its not just go to church and go home. its much deeper than that. yes their alot of people out their that is bad, but arnt you? think about it. have you ever lied? cheated? stole? lusted? etc. then your a lieing/cheating/lusting/thief, and are no better than the ones who "get caught"..dont think your perfect. we are just trying to help you avoid something you'll end up regreting later on.

...Sir/ma'am, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God - all need the Savior.
...I share my faith, as God gives me opportunities.
...1. It is a command of God (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) We are His witnesses.
...2. I have made arrangements to miss out on Hell by trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, and it would be incredibly selfish of me to keep it to myself.
...3. Why wouldn't someone want to help others find eternal life and safety in Christ? I would like for many to go to Heaven also.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.
