I just got contacts on friday, and it is now monday, and everyday that i had them except for the first day my right eye has had a feeling like something is in it while the left eye feels perfectly fine. i can only feel the pain when i blink or think about it. sometimes it just starts to water and i have to explain to everybody that im not crying. and then every once in a while i get this sharp pain all the way around my eye. could the pain be just in that eye because it is weaker and requires a stronger perscription than the other? i was thinking about not wearing them at all tomorrow to see if it still hurts... if it still does hurt what could be the reason?

If it still hurts the next time you wear them you need to go to the eye dr or at least the store where you bought them. You could have a very small hole in it or a scratch. One time that happend to me and I had the contacts in the wrong eyes. Your eye dr can give you a free trial pair. I would do that and see how the new pair feels. Good luck

Are you wearing a type that allows the most possible air to get to your eye - they are good.

This type of thing is why having a back up pair of glasses is a good thing.

just a bonus...
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Im guessing the contact is bad. Which can happen with new contacts. I just put in a new set on friday and one is so blurry its just bad so i gotta try to get some new ones next week. Best bet call your eye doctor and tell them one of the contacts they gave you is bad they are not suppose to be uncomfortablee like that best of luck.

It sounds like the contact lens is bad, or that you weren't properly fitted. Definitely go back to your optometrist and have your eyes reexamined and your contact lens refitted.

If it still hurts after your remove them, you probably have an abrasion on your eye and get thee to an eye doctor stat.
