1) Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, ran the catering business The Barefoot Contessa with Martha Stewart in the late 70's, knows how to slam together no-nonsense recipes
2) Alton Brown, yeah, he's kinda nerdy, but explains the hows and whys of the SCIENCE of the culinary adventure.......
3) Giada DeLaurantiis, for taking the initative to "re-morph" classic Italian dishes into new ways of preparing old favorites with some updated twists
4) Sandra Lee..............WELL, JUST LOOK AT HER!!! Ok, so she's NOT a real chef in the true sense, but her SemiHomeMade style is sure innovative, and even though not all of her recipes are the best, with looks like that, ya can't miss!!!
Who I'm over:
Emeril..................here, buddy, BAM this................
Paula Deen..............Cholesterol Coronary Country Cook (can a person eat THAT much Butter, Cream Cheese and Mayonnaise??
Rachel Ray.........those snorts and grunts and flying hands and if I hear about her family ONCE more.......

I personally like Hell's Kitchen on Food Network. I like how the food is made perfectly and if its made bad or not cooked the chef will say its not. I also like the show Iron Chef America on Food Network too. It shows you the details of the foods, how they were made and the foods that they make have to include a certain food every time. Eg: Chocolate or Ostridge. And they always look good no matter whats the key food! Good question!

Alton Brown because he explains the science behind the technique.
Paula Deen because here cooking is accessible and down home. You won't need to shop at every gourmet shop in town to prepare either of their recipes. You might need a good cardiologist if you eat everything Paula suggests...but moderation is everything.
Finally there is the "Dean" of the TV chefs - Emeril. Pork fat rules ;)

Alton Brown on "Good Eats"! He's smart, witty, informative, does his research and gives you all the scientific explanations about how food cooks, reacts to other ingredients, etc. I love all of the creativeness, imagination and quirkiness that goes into each episode. And with the added food science information, I have a deeper understanding of cooking.
He's not bad looking either!
