or in any other American war that draft was successful, in what ways was it successful? (like the women had a chance to work where men usually worked, then when the men returned there was a larger workforce, which meant a larger economy, making prices go down.) any other ways that it benefitted us as a whole?

in contrast, how was it not successful or harmful instead. like in the vietnam war (other wars too) how was the draft not successful?

im doing a debate but i cant just say stuff. i have to have solid backed up evidence, like how this kind of stuff succeeded or failed in the past.

hopefully you get the idea and give me some answers. thanks

Don't be afraid.Just say what you just did ,out LOUD.The people in the audience are just as scared as you are! I have been there too.As far as the draft is concerned WW2 was a different time in history,a much prouder time. The Vietnam war was a very unpopular time for war.People figured out how to get out of it.After that going to college was very popular! So being patriotic was not cool, but in 1942 patriotism was very cool.To all the people in 60's who avoided the draft..KISS MY &^$%^&>.If the situation doesn't change soon in the middle east you can debate this question in real time.Best of luck on your debate...Rob...former Marine.
