I have the same type of cyst in the same wrist. My doctor told me that back in the old days they would give you a bottle of whiskey and then smack your wrist shut in a bible...don't ask me why. I guess it would pop the cyst. These cysts are common in waiters/waitresses. If you could imagine how a waiter/waitress holds her tray in the air and the position that the wrist would be in. Anyway I wasn't a waitress and it happened to me for reasons unknown. Mine mainly flares up like arthritis and sometimes bulges and becomes very painful. Sometimes mine moves around other times it doesn't (depending on how swollen it is). What I am thinking is, the doc injected cortisone in it, it took some of the swelling down and is now small enough to be moved around. You can have them removed, but there is a chance they will come back. Make sure you let your doctor know what is going on, and good luck!

RE:
Ganglion Cyst moving around?
I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist, and about 3 weeks ago the doctor injected cortisone into it. It was sore for a week but then it got better, although the cyst is still there.
Just now my wrist has frozen up, so I've cracked it back again (it always does it -prob what caused the cyst...

Chiropractor and Massage Therapist
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Yes, it's common for them to move around.
As to whether or not it's getting worse:
"If the lump remains and doesn’t bother you aesthetically or physically, there’s no need to take further action. However, if pain persists and/or the lump enlarges, see your doctor: Ganglion cysts can be “aspirated” with a needle (which draws out fluids), or removed surgically if they interfere with range of motion. While these treatments may be successful in up to 75% of patients, ganglions commonly recur after aspiration or surgery."

I have one too. Had it for about 10 years. It does seem to move around a little bit. I never had any shots. The doctor wanted to do surgery to remove it, but I decided not to do that because it isn't hurting me. It is just a little annoying. I wouldn't worry too much about it moving.

I think you should cut it out immediately! Any foreign object inside of you can't be good...right?
