Jesus was a prophet and not a son of God. Here is proof from the bible itself. The reason why people believe he is "Gods son", is because the bible has been tampered with many times in its history, that it has lost its original message.
In Matthew 21:11, the people of his time are recorded as referring to Jesus as a prophet: “And the crowds said, ‘This is the prophet Jesus of Nazareth of Galilee.’ ” In Mark, 6:4, it is stated that Jesus referred to himself as a prophet: “And Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and among his own kin, and in hisown house.’

well if it says he's a god and a prophet, then that is also proof that the bible contradicts itself because its been messed with throughout history.

so where is the proof you speak of? Are you silly enough to believe that the very Son of God was not also a prophet? That is an absurd thought to say the least.
Jesus being raised from the grave is all the proof in the world that He IS the Son of God.
If Jesus was not the Messiah, he was either a lunatic, liar, or con man. So by those being the facts, why would ANYONE revere Jesus as Islam does (as a prophet?
Jesus is Lord, or He is nothing... try that on for size!
He Lives!

The people knew that there was something special about Jesus, but they didn't know that He was the Son of God. That's why they called him 'just' a prophet.
Jesus calls Himself the Son of God in this and many other passages:
John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
And the centurion who stood by the Cross also called Him the Son of God:
Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
Islam may believe that Jesus is only a prophet, but that's one of the things that distinguishes them from Christianity.
Edit:
I just explained the passage that you quoted, so I'm afraid you don't win this discussion. The people didn't recognize Jesus as the Son of God, but that doesn't mean that He wasn't. He called Himself the Son of God, as did the Apostles, the four Evangelists, St. Paul, etc.
You can call someone anything you want, but that's not to say that it's the truth. The people didn't know the entire story of Who Jesus really was, so they used the only term they knew.

Jesus was a prophet and Son of God, and God. He equated himself with God when he said him and the Father are one. The bible says he created everything and that he always existed. Either the whole bible is the truth or none of it is true. We really can't pick and choose which parts we would like to believe. I wish the parts about hell were not true but the same God who inspired all the other parts inspired the truth about hell also. You can't be certain that it was tampered with. Even the old testament spoke about Jesus without using that name.

really? so how do you explain all those scriptures that say Jesus is the Son of God? Like Jesus using God's name as His own - the name I AM. Or the fact that His trial was based on His claims of Godhood. You do not take ALL of the Word of God in your "arguments." Jesus was quoting an Old Testament scripture in Mark 6:4 to pinpoint the condition of the peoples hearts for rejecting the Word being brought to them. God is quite capable of seeing over His Word to bring it to us intact with nothing vital lost. Do not underestimate the power of God. The other point of your argument that you have missed is this: the world did not need another "Prophet" only - they needed a SAVIOR. The whole point of everything was to SAVE man from sin and back to the Father. Only a Man who was fully GOD could accomplish this. Contaminated blood under the penalty of sin from the fallen nature of man could not accomplish this - it had to be sinless, not under the Law and curse of sin, GOD Blood! THAT is why Jesus is more than a Prophet - HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY SAVIOR, REDEEMER.

Hello. Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, is both God and man and came as the perfect substitute to man's sin. Jesus was not only a prophet, but also an apostle, evangelist, pastor and a teacher as well. He was the forerunner for those who would come after Him. Yes, Jesus did function in the role and ministry of a prophet, but He is far more. He is both Lord and Christ... and everyone will bow their knee and with their tongue confess that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father. He is the king of glory, the lover of your soul, and He is the ONLY way to heaven. The mark of a cult is when they alter the truth of who Jesus is. Jesus, prior to taking on human flesh to be our substitute was fully spirit without a human body and sat at the right hand of God. Even so today He reigns from the Throne of God as King, Lord, and the ruler over all. He is God fully and man fully, and it is because of Him we have the opportunity to receive eternal life in Him.

If Jesus was a prophet and not the Son of God, and he claimed to be the Son of God, then he really wasnt a good prophet, right? Sounds more like a lunatic to me. He's really either a prophet and the Son of God, or just the Son of God. Not just a psycho prophet.

Revelation 22:18-21
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from this book of prophesy , God will take away from his share in the tree of life and of the holy city which are described in this book
He who testifies to these things says,"Yes, I am coming soon."
Amen come LORD JESUS
The grace of THE LORD JESUS be with you in God's people. Amen.
(the passage that i just typed is part of revelation the book that John wrote telling what GOD showed him. there are letters that HE WROTE to the twelve churches described in revelation)
If you say that the bible has been changed numerous times that would mean someone would have had to read it to change those things. well by changing it you are signing your own permission for you to be plagued. and since u say it has been changed then why do you use the very thing you say cannot be verified as a way to prove your point wich is also inaccurate by the way.
JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD IF HE WASNT THEN THAT MEANS THAT HE WAS JUST A MAN. AND IF THAT IS TRUE THAT MEANS THAT HE COULDNT HAVE RESSURECTED HIMSELF ON THE 3 DAY. WHICH MEANS THAT HIS CRUCIFICTION WHICH WAS THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE OF THE LAMB(JESUS) SO THAT WE MIGHT GO TO HEAVEN WAS FOR NOTHING. WHICH MEANS THAT ALL OF US ARE DOOMED TO GO TO HELL BECAUSE WE CANNOT GET TO HEAVEN ON ACTS ALONE. NONE OF US ARE THAT GOOD AND THEREFORE ARE UNWORTHY. SO IF JESUS WAS JUST A PROPHET THEN YOU AND I WILL BURN IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY. JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. YOU MIGHT WANT TO FIGURE THAT OUT BEFORE YOU DIE AND STAND IN FRONT OF HIM TO BE JUDGED. BECAUSE THATS TO LATE.

Jesus claimed He was God Almighty, if He is just a Prophet as you claim, He would be a liar and guilty of blasphemy. How then can He be a Prophet?
Matt 26:64 answers your question in Jesus' own words:
.....Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God. "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.
There are many other scriptures where Jesus refers to Himself as God, or as The Son of Man.
The entire Old Testament and New Testament scriptures acclaim the personage of Christ Jesus as Messiah.
Peace.

Obviously the pple were not sure what he was! Some thought he was prophet and some knew he was Lord!
He is not a Prophet neither was Muhammed! Both were not prophets! Do not insult him anymore be calling him just an ordinary man! He Was Not A Prophet why cant you pple get it thru your thick scull? Do you want him to come to ur house and prove it to you? Will you believe then?
Faith is about believing in something u cant see, if you can see then u dont have to have faith in it!
Also Do not insult God by saying that he willl choose a child molester as a prophet! God is not evil! How would he make a man who marrieds kids a prophet! Why didnt Muhammed just adopt the girl, or he could have waited until she got older. That would make more since!
Muhammed has an adopted son named Zaid (zayed) he was in love with a beautiful rich girl whose name was Zenab. He wanted to marry her but she hated him. Muhammed said to her It is Allah's will that you marry my son. So Zaid and Zenab got married. Zenab was treating Zaid very badly, and he told the Muhammed about it. Muhammed said you can divorce her.
So they got a divorce and then Muhammed married her! Is this the actions of a prophet lusting after married women?
