I think the LA Times recently quoted the average price for a one bed in LA is $1,100.00. Be advised that does NOT include utilities, except water.

There's a one bed for rent in my building that's going for $1,025.00 and it's a dump.

The cheapest places to live in is place you would want to be.

The closer to the beach, the more you will pay.

Santa Monica and the City of LA have rent control. Burbank does not.

Most of the newspapers in the Los Angeles area are on-line. The Los Angeles Times is the largest and best known. You can log on to their classified section and see exactly what is available, and what it costs. While price is a consideration, you must also remember that the "cheapest" areas are also not the best areas to live in.
