Most ADD/ADHD medication is methamphetamine (Ritalin, Adderall, Stratera), which would initially appear to increase athletic performance for a short period of time, but after an hour or so you would wear out. It's generally against the rules of competition of most sports to ingest amphetamines of any sort and you could be disqualified if you are a professional athlete.

EDIT: Even if you are prescribed the medication, it is still against the rules to ingest it if you are talking about college or professional sports. The same way that you cannot have steroids in your system, even if you are prescribed them. But if you are talking about high school sports, then yes, it's okay to take them if you have a legitimate prescription.

My ADD medicane helped a lot with paying attention, so I wouldn't miss things inthe game. Its only against the rules to take the amphetamines for sports if you are not prescribed them, since you are it is fine Overall taking your medicane for sports is just like taking it for everything else it will help you pay attention.
