I grew up in a family of scientists...I read the bible as an adult...it is easy for me to see the difference...and science is not faith and faith is not science...but when religion tries to explain the natural world on faith without any scientific data (or grossly misinterpreted data)....well.....stop right there, because it is faith, not science...I was baptized catholic, but I was young and it was against my will....so I guess I might be considered a recovering catholic

faith is, by definition, the absence of reason.

Science- is hypotheses supported by evidence- requiring reason.

For one thing, science is flexible and it changes. Scientific theories are frequently challenged and improved. When faith explains something, it's set in stone.

(What's also interesting is when science and faith collide...If you're ever interested, check out a book called Biology As Ideology. I didn't LOVE it, but it was interesting to hear a scientist talk about just how ideologically biased science can be...)

Science starts with the facts and draws conclusions based on those facts. Said conclusions are subject to change upong the discovery of additional facts.

Religion starts with a conclusion and tries to find facts to fit it. Not to mention ignores all the contraindicative facts. Said conclusions are set in stone and are never permitted to be altered.

Science is about matter and energy.
Mostly the things of the world.
Faith is about Spiritual things.
You will find your proof in Christ
and not in any church. Churches
often make void the Word of God
by their traditions. Keep God's
commandments and be a man of
God. Or not. It's called free will.

faith is blind, it is not backed up by anything concrete. Faith is simply opinion that MIGHT be based LOOSELY on actual events
Science is the process of uncovering evidence to support a hypothesis.

Science proves things that can be seen. Faith proves things that can't be seen. When there is power in things that are seen it's relatively ho-hum news. When there is power in things that can't be seen then it's evidence that there is a God, which is GOOD news.

There is no difference.
In both faith and science you have to rely on teachings - the words of other people.

You cannot know if they tell the truth.
