Those who have had an "enlightening" visit know how I feel.

At times, a household believes himself to be clever in "threatening" to come to the door of the Jehovah's Witness minister to talk about the householder's religion.

A typical response from the Jehovah's Witness minister is to tell the householder what town the Witness lives in, and suggest that the householder begin knocking doors soon, since it has taken the Witness (1? 5? 20?) years of knocking to find this householder.

Such a response perhaps amuses the Witness more than the householder...

Actually, I have a brochure about how they also want to imitate JWs in the door to door work. It is from the Islamic Comparative Religion Academy. They are trying to distribute 250,000 copies of the Universal Challenge magazine.

Quote:
Our achievement is NOTHING compared to even that of a small sect of Christianity call the "Jehovah's Witnesses", who do not number more than 100 million in the world.

They are less than one tenth of the TOTAL MUSLIM WORLD POPULATION yet they publish over 20 Million copies of the AWAKE magazine and over 20 Million copies of the WATCHTOWER magazine.

Not unethical, but hysterucal. There's an old joke about a guy who actually invites the Jehovah's Witness people into his ktichen to sit down. He says "All right. What is it you want to tell me that will make me convert to your religion"? One Witness looks at the other, hoping he had an answer, and finally says to the homeowner "I don't know. We've never gotten this far before".

No, if that is your belief. I mean, is it really that bad that somebody comes to your door and wants to tell you a little about their faith? What if they are right and tomorrow the world ends and you go to Hell? Is it really that bad to believe that there might be a God and there might be a Heaven? If there's not, then oh well, you spend your life trying to live good and faithfully, but if there is all of that in the afterlife, then you will be that much better off.

I would love it if someone actually showed an interest in taking the time to get up, when they could easily stay in bed, get showered, shaved, dressed, drive to my door for free and politely offer to share their beliefs with me, without expecting to be paid by me or in general.

I personally am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and only once has someone of another faith come to my door offering religous information, the rest of the visitors said they were here for one thing but all ended up just asking for money.

I have had an "enlightened visit". Yet your question doesn't make sense. What does Taliban have to do with christians doing the only thing Jesus asked us to do?

Why would it be unethical?
If you have a love for your God and a fervent desire to do his will and let others know what a wonderful God his is,go right ahead.
But I bet you dont do it because you lack what Jehovahs Witnesses have and that is selflessness and a love for their neighbour.

No, it's a nice idea to return the favor. Make sure to do it at 6:30 on a Saturday morning.

no they do it to you. I know my dad used to invite them in and then talk to them about something stupid and not let them get a word in edge wise. But you know in all honesty I have to commend them. Because they are the only ones who are taking the word of God. From Door to Door. that's more than most of us right?
