why, at times, would your blood pressure be higher, even though your blood volume is lower?

Blood pressure is the force of the blood against the artery walls. Like if someone was pushing on a door from the other side when you are opening it. The heart is the pump and the force pumping the blood throughout the body. The amount of blood circulating is irrelevant.
