Our faith is not dependant on physical proof, I hope, to those that believe in GOD/Jesus.
1. Do humans really need to waste valuable time on another idea by a group of the life of Jesus?
2. A movie will not change anyones path they are on to their reward will it? Please explain why, how.
(Keep in mind I am not educated - so be brief, and use simple words. Thank you.)

Tattie: Well your point is valid, I see that, a 3 hour commercial for one faith. Yes it could net a few people, but I do not like pissing off so many others.

smellslikedeadcobain: Why?, because I do not rub peoples noses in my faith. It's counter productive to piss people off, while at the same time trying to bridge gaps and form unity. Also this doc. is just too easy, the budget for ad time is already done. Free press makes me think it's like Capone's safe. Empty. YAWN!

Hello, Midge: Yes, this is what people do not need - another baseless reason to fight with each other - instead of uniting together. This subject is so incendiary I knew people would start hurting others, it's human nature. People's passions are being manipulated for someones elses profit. I hope I am wrong, and people will not hurt each other any more.

I don't know that I would necessarily call a documentary about Jesus boring, no matter how many times they've been made in the past--if for no other reason than to say that the more they find out and document about him, the more people may begin to be drawn to him. Remember, faith mainly comes after the facts are given. In other words, someone who's naturally more scientific in the way they think things through (someone such as my stepdad, for one) will need to logically come to a conclusion about the Lord and His glory; whereas, someone who bases their faith/decisions more off of emotion (like me) would not need as much "proof" to come to the same conclusion.
So no, I don't believe that a movie will necessarily change a person's faith, but it may aid in helping them to come to Christ.

I feel there is not enough proof for any religion that would convert me from being an atheist. And I think that is the only reason why having proof would come in handy, giving a religion credibility.

Hey! I finally get to answer one of your questions. I tend to agree with you that those of us that have already made up their mind about their faith are not going to change it with another "Lets get the Christians story". I am a little dismayed at all the nastiness from the Jewish quarter lately with this though. How about you?

The producers of that documentary are just out to make money. According to the Israeli archaeologist who documented the site there is no evidence to support claims it was the burial site of Jesus.

No ANY media coverage of the life of Jesus can only add to the religious calling of the faithful.

You want to know what a waste of time is. It's people who keep going on this finding stuff about Jesus. Sure they found something about Jesus but why does everyone need to know about it or keep going on about it for no good reason.

That documentary made me unwell to my abdomen. often I also have a "no longer my babies, no longer my organisation" attitude in direction of how human beings develop their babies, yet that borders on newborn abuse. in basic terms the sight of those unfavorable babies weeping because of fact they theory they have been terrible sinners destined for hell grow to be terrifying.

If you don't care, then why do you post? PS it's a documentary. Not a movie.
