NO - there is no such thing! LOL!
The Compass is new as of 2007 model year.

I bought mine 5 months ago and have almost 15,000 miles on it. Mine is actually the least fuel efficient of the models because I got the 4x4 Automatic. My mileage has averaged between 22-24 MPG. The ones that get 30 MPG are the 2WD with Standard Transmissions (the commercial is misleading).

Go to the Jeep.com website and select your options and the view the window sticker to see what the mileage would be like for your preferred package.

I was getting 30 MPG in my 5-speed VW Golf, but I needed something bigger because my son and his friends are now bigger than I am - so I did the opposite of you! I knew that fuel milage would be a sacrifice.

I have had to make evasive maneuvers to avoid accidents at highway speeds, and it surprised me; while not as agile as my old car, it was more responsive than I anticipated.

Yes, the Patriot, which is just now being sent to dealers, has the same engine. It also comes in a "Trail Rated" model, which the Compass does not if you are doing any real 4-wheeling. The Patriot stands a little higher and is boxier in appearance.

Feel free to email me if you have any other questions.

No I dont own one, but I build them. They are rated at almost 30 mph highway. They have the same engine as the Caliber. Alot of people at work have bought one and they love theirs. I havent heard anyone complain about the gas mileage.

Hint: The new Jeep Patriot has the same engine too. Thats an option for you too.
