The medical profession has never CURED a virus. We cannot cure a cold. The only thing that can be done is something called supportive therapy. This just means that we treat the symptoms because they are uncomfortable. Some tips: Don't treat a fever with any anti-pyretic (anti-fever) medications unless it is over 102F. This is because fever is a natural defense of the body that is used to kill viruses and bacteria. By treating any fever, studies show that you actually prolonge the infection. The reason why we treat fevers over 102F is because they can cause more damage than good. Also, don't treat a productive cough (also known as a wet cough) because this also helps to get rid of "gunk" in your lungs. You should however treat a dry cough because they're painful and hard of your muscles and don't do much good in the disease fighting area. Other than that, the only thing you can do medically is treat your symptoms. Non-medically, drink orange juice (vitamin C boosts your immune system) and get plenty of rest. A LUKEWARM bath can help with a fever. Not HOT and not COLD. Hot will make you hotter, and so will cold because your body temperature will rise. Hope this helps!

you might need to go to a DR. otherwise try the nyquil dayquil pack, vicks vapo steam in a hot mist vaporizor next to your bed(with the bedroom door closed at least most of the way) and lots of vitamin C. Also if you have sinus pressure Sinex and a hot wash cloth over your face might help...good luck...oh yeah Mrs. Grass soup is great too.

Are you sure it is just a cold? There are different strains of the flu and pneumonia. You probably should see a doctor just to make sure it isn't anything serious.

Try Vicks Vapo Rub on your chest, chicken rice soup with LOTS of black pepper in it, and Mucinex DM
