I was born and raised in sri lanka, it is really a great country they say it’s a land like no other for many reasons like its geographical structure, people and religion. It’s a small island in the Indian ocean but it has literally all types of geographical features for example central country is extremely mountainous and has a cold weather, but if u go 60miles north from there you will see dry lands, even my self get amazed sometimes. It is the worlds oldest continually Buddhist country and I has lots of magnificent Hindu and Buddhist temples more than 2000 years old. Sri lanka used to be the biggest tourist destination in south Asia until a terrorist group started terrorizing people in this beautiful country, again it’s a civil war and the chance for a foreigner to get hurt is almost nil. Dispite having a 20 year old civil war sri lanka has managed to have best rates of GDP, literacy rates and infant morality in south asia.

I'm from Sri Lanka. It is a beautigul country in northern Sri Lanka. But unforunately some events have happened which make it very poor. Such as the tsunami. In addition makor earthwuakes bombs its going down economy wise, But still is a beautiful country

i visited sri lanka about 2 years ago.my wife and friends.on the first day we were taken for a ride by a tout,when he finally dropped us back to our hotel,my friend had his pocket picked,luckily i saw this happen so he did not lose it.we were there for 1 week,went on 1 tour.then stayed in the hotel for the rest of the time.i will never returnwe stayed in colombo which is the capitol.i heard other people have visited,but have stayed in the country areas with no worries
