Ibuprofen does not make you sleepy. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend taking it for insomnia. There are much better remedies, including over the counter sleep aids. Your doctor can offer prescription ones. Either way, talk to your doc. Even over the counter sleeping medicines can be dangerous in certain people, so just get cleared first.
Ibuprofen is a great medicine when taken properly and for the right reasons. It is not addictive (no dependency), and it does not (typically) harm your liver like tylenol can. It can cause bleeding in the stomach if taken for too long, especially if repeatedly taken on an empty stomach. If you have other questions about ibuprofen, you can ask your doctor while your asking her about sleep aids. Good luck.

No it is not. Ibuprofen is not a sleep agent- it's an anti-inflammatory agent and a pain reliever.
If you need to fall asleep, take a warm bath and drink some warm milk.

I'm not sure about the overall effects, but one thing I can tell you is do not take it on an empty stomach. It will lead to ulcers.

Ibuprofen can damage your liver if you take too much. Every now and then I'll take one to help me sleep.

No, it can either cause dependency, or make you sick. Don't take medicine when you are not sick.
