Shoes for Crews, if they have the program. They're slip-resistant, and you really need that with all the water and grease. I used to do that when I worked in food. It is so worth it.
You can also get decent slip-resistant shoes at a good price at Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, or Sears.

When I worked in fast food places they would supply us with a non-slip pair of shoes. The company that made them was called SFC. Shoes For Crews. If you don't want to wait for them to order them you can get something similar from a brand called TredSafe at wal-mart for about 20 bucks.

I don't work in a fast food restaurant but I would assume that they would ask you to wear slip resistant shoes (that removes their liability if you choose not to wear them). Shoes for Crews makes great shoes. They're very comfortable, difficult to slip in and help with having to stand on your feet all day.

I work at Mc Donald's and I wear the Tred-safe shoes from Payless Shoes. They are around $20 and they are slip and oil resistant so they are much safer than wearing regular shoes.

i used to manage a kitchen and i would wear cross trainers or skate shoes since i was pulling in 14 hour days i wanted to be as comfy as possible. dont invest too much money in shoes though since the grease gets into them so bad you have to replace them every 3 months or so.

From experience a good pair of cheap sneakers should suffice. Dont spend a fortune on a "name" brand shoe because it will get dirty fairly quickly, get something comfortable however because you will be on your feet more than you think.
