why don't you get his chart done up,depending on his time of birth, will determine his star sign.
The sun will have changed signs on that day, you could go into a book shop, and look up an ephemeris, this would give the exact time the sun sign would have changed.
And I think yahoo horoscopes will tell you exactly, put in time and place of birth and it will tell you, sun, moon and rising sign

I was born on September 22 1989. at 8:25 am. I am a Virgo and a cross with a Libra... therefor so are you. You will most likely have more of what a virgo consists of and a little spice of libra. But if someone were to ask you what your sign is, you are a Virgo.

The years you would be Libran if born on the 22nd of Sepember are: 1992, 1988, 1984, 1980, 1976, 1972, 1968.

Go with whatever sign is actually the sign that is in effect on the actual day your son was born. I have heard the theory that the "cusp" actually makes no difference. And that you are the sign that you were born under - period. However, I would focus on the other aspects of the horoscope like the sun sign, the moon sign, etc etc, as I have read, these have greater influences on the person than a cusp would, that is, if in fact, the cusp does have an effect. I have two daughters, one being born September 22, 1985. Anyway, couldn't help noticing your question with the familiar dating looking at me. I also happen to be born on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer. So annoying because they are so different and one newpaper says I'm one and another paper says I'm the other. I found a website, tarot.com/astrology/ Click on the personal insight reports. There are different reports you can get where you'll have to put the birthplace and time he was born. There is a nominal fee for this from about 5.00 to about 20.00 I think, depending on how detailed of a report you want. I have not done my daughters because she is obviously a Libra from her personality. Good luck!
