WOW! That's a long time to suffer. You might try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean).
The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot
You can do this a often as you like with no bad side effects.
You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. So if you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis.

Decongest Herbal by Zand. It's not a drug it's an herbal remedy.
For your cold or flu symptoms, get Yin Chiao. Nothing works quite like it. Get the real thing, import from China at Chinese pharmacies in the US. Beware of American imitations: they don't work!
http://www.drshen.com/patents.htm#yinchiao (This is the real thing. Chinese pharmacies always try to pass the vertical box to me [I'm White]. The vertical box is crap! The horizontal box as pictured at that link is the miracle product. Retails for less than $5 at most Chinese pharmacies. I'm never without, carry a tube everywhere with me winter or summer. It prevents colds and flu if you take it when exposed (to coworkers coughing etc) and it relieves symptoms fast if already ill. Plus it has no chemicals or harmful ingredients unlike Airborne!
Good luck.

I use either the alka seltzer plus or the walgreens version of sudafed(for me,it works so much better than the name brand).
But you need an antibiotic because sinus infections are bacterial infections and will almost always come back and get worse.

There are many medications out there for sinus issues. I use alka seltzer plus because for me it works quickly. If it is allergies causing your problem you may want to try claritin it works very well.
