My son is the same age and he is sitting up on his own. He rolls over from his back to his belly. He seems to have stopped rolling from is belly to his back. I guess he likes belly time. He can hold all of his weight for quite a bit of time standing up either leaning against something or having us balance him. He is eating solid stage 2 food. He just started saying da-da. He is great at holding on to things and grabbing things. He seems to be starting to reach for me when I go to get him.

Mine is 8 months now.
At 7 months he was a speedy crawler and liked to climb up on things with a huge two toothed grin burbling da da ma ma and other spurious sounds. Didn't like big lumps in his food though-I was still having to blend to just above pulp until a fortnight or so ago and make sure any lumps were soft because he tended to forget to chew.
I think he's been faster across the board than his siblings were(barr the food) but then he's a lot bigger physically than they were and also has the input and impetus-with 7yr old brothers and a 20mth old sister one or all of them is running around and talking most of the time-and if he wants to join in (and he does) he needed to get loud and active asap!
It doesn't matter where they are at what age though-all the guides are just that, a guide and more importantly so are other kids, different gene pool + different environments = different development.
Enjoy babyhood-they're soon talking back, having opinions and generally driving you insane!

Every chld will be different. Some wont crawl at all but will walk earlier so 7 months is not late to be crawling.
I dont know why health visitors like to put so much emphasis on milestones at certain points, we are all individuals ,everyone learns everything at different rates.
My second child crawled earlier than my first, probably she wanted to join in and so there was more incentive.

She was rolling over sitting up and trying to crawl. She could also reach for things and if we put something in her hands she could hold onto it and shake it. Dont worry if your child is not doing this yet-every child is different.

My daughter was crawl-bumping. I almost went out to but a hard hat for her and several flashing lights to attatch onto large objects such as the door frame! Also she was making a lovely mess on all her clothes which got ruined from baby food. It seemed all her clothes where the same shade of 'stomach churningly disgusting cheesy broccolli and Heinz baby food red'!!!!

keeping me awake most of the time!
I remember putting up some Christmas decorations in August to keep him amused cos they caught the light etc. Sounds like you've got a very bright boy there! Hard work at the moment, but stick with it - he'll be worth every minute. Get some rest yourself though, (easier said than done. i know but really important)
Good luck sweetheart

My son started to crawl at 7 months right over to the settee where he pulled himself up and started walking round the furniture, I thought it was bad enough when he was rolling everywhere! Although he did this early he didn't walk unaided till just before his 1st birthday.

Every child hits different milestones at different times. Mine were sitting up crawling, my 2 girls were pulling themself up to furniture and walking by 8 months, but my son was sitting up and scooting around. My 6 months they all held sippy cups and attempted with a spoon to feed, not much luck but it gave them practice with their motor skills.

my little man was crawling, sitting up and just starting to pull himself up on the furniture. He could take a few steps using a walker, but wasn't that great on it. It helped though, he was walking by nine months.
