I would like to confess a few things in a church in the confession booth this weekend. Does anyone know which churches have it and do they judge you or help you out when you confess? I really need help and I am willing to do anything to get out of this mess I'm in.

I know you must be Catholic to confess and receive absolution from a Catholic Priest.

Why ever would the above person presume Catholicism got her into the mess she's in. That's just stupid.

Many times when a person confesses a certain sin they not only are absolved from the guilt of the sin but, they receive the grace to overcome the temptations to sin this way again. They will still be tempted but, they will have more of Jesus' strength.

The Apostles were given this ministry from Jesus himself when he blew onto them and said "Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you shall forgive, will be forgiven, and whose sins you shall retain shall be retained.". This has been passed down through the ages. It is a marvelous thing. It is how the salt that has lost its saltiness becomes salty again.

Only Catholic Churches have confession booths that I know of. You can probably go early in the day, and ring a bell or something and a priest will come and listen to your confession.
Like they say, confession is good for the soul. And a simple psychological thing. People just need to talk and get stuff out. Which we rarely get to to do in our modern stressed out world. Because when we try and get things off our chest, everybody shoves it right back down our throats.
"Stop worrying, you worry too much!"
Translation. "I got my own problems, and I don't want to hear it!"

You may talk to a priest, but you need to be Catholic to have the sacrament of reconciliation. It is used hand in had with the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The RC's now have face to face confession, some with option to have the "booth" Other Catholic churches still have this feature. It is also an architectural feature.

Not everything is instant in this day and age. Faith grows with time and care.

Recently Catholicism has got into the business of open confession, but most RC churches still have private confessionals.

If you have the good luck to get an intelligent priest you can really be helped. Even if you get a stupid one, confessing cannot hurt.

I'm supposing Catholicism helped to get you into whatever mess you're in, but there are sincere people there who will try to help you out of it.

If you believe in Jesus' death and resurection and are turning to him to help you, get down on your knees right where you are. I believe Catholic churches have confessional booths, protestant pastors will hold office hours or make appointments for counseling. God will see you now. You may still want to talk with someone, but I would recommend starting at the top.
I John 1:9
"If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and purify us from all unrightousness.

Its the Catholic Church.. but you don't need the catholic church or a booth to do that.. just confess to God... right wherever you are.. just tell Him what you did.. sincerely apologize and ask Him to forgive you and He will.

Now... will He get "you out of it"? Well.. maybe.. maybe not.. Maybe He wants you to pull your own boot straps up and dig in and get yourself out of it and learn by going through it.. but either way He will forgive you for whatever it is...

You don't have to have a confession booth, just find a church in your denomination and go ask for a counselor.

You don't need to confess in a booth. Just spend some quiet time with your Lord in your "prayer closet" and he knows yiur heart and will forgive you. Jesus loves you.

Cheers!

If you need help with a spiritual problem, or with confessing yours sins, any Catholic priest will be happy to help you, but one must be Catholic in order to receive the sacrament of reconciliation.
