I currently have dark brown hair (natural colour) with pale peachish-orange flashes on the sides (possibly a very small one on the back as well). If it needed bleaching, I'd also have to have it cropped a lot (otherwise the flashes would be even more wrecked than they currently are).

I have hazel eyes and pale skin. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cf...

I hope the above piccie works

I'd go to a professional to get it done if it needed to be bleached.

Examples of colours I like are here:

I think I might want some burnt orange in there somewhere, but the overall aim is a toffee, caramel colour.

In the first picture, I'm the one with the glasses.

traditionally if you want to lighten your hair bleaching would be required, however, they have come out with new coloring products that lift old color and deposit new without bleaching. They are more expensive and usually only available to a licensed professional. But if you are concerned about damage it may be the way to go for you. Find a stylist you trust and ask if they have that in a color you are interested in.

To go lighten you have to bleach and then tone. That's just the way it is. Don't try it yourself or you'll make a mess. Go see a pro, they will give you good advice.
