whoa, why are you so angry about this? i mean, people aren't going to read this and give up their religious beliefs. besides, the free tote bag we get for converting christians to atheists isn't all that great. i'm also surprised religion has lasted this long... but, in the same way you can prove anything with facts, you can prove anything with interpretations from the bible (and i assume the koran etc). while religion is the cause of most wars across the globe, it does cut down on petty theft. so, it all evens out. i think religion is necessary for some people... without it, they'd have no structure in life. either way, i think it's best to not worry what others believe in or how they live their lives.

Please, PLEASE, read Tornado In A Junkyard by James Perloff. For a person to disagree or reject something they need first to have a great degree of understanding of both subject matters. I'll ask, what church do/did you go to to form your opinion? How often? Have you read all of the Bible? A person asks another person--Why are there so many different kinds of flowers and why do they smell nice? Evolution answer: Because some matter came together and over billions and billions of years, for millions of reasons, it began to make billions of changes. Some of the matter bacame plants. Some of the plants made millions of changes over millions of years and some became trees, some grass, some corn, and some became flowers. After millions of years the flowers started to change. Some became roses, some became sun flowers, some didn't change much at all And that's how we got flowers And, after many more changes some became insects . Some even became animals. Like an ape...where we came from. Christian answer: Because God created them that way. Which makes the most sense? Which is easier to believe? That's creation, now get into the New Testament. Salvation, everlasting life, Jesus Christ. The man that you name above, F. Nietzsche, evidently never heard of the 10 commandments-not to kill, not to lie, not to steal, etc.- and/or felt they were worth following.

I will pray for you. How you can insult people so much in such a short paragraph is beyond me. I'd have to say you better do some more homework before you make yourself look like any more of a fool then you already have. I am truly embarrassed for you. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that one day you will be judged and as a nonbeliever you will not be saved. And I would like to know what your idea of morality is. Seems to me that Christian or not, the 10 commandments are solid principles to live by. And by the way, what is there in life if you have no belief?

Lloyd,
The quote comes from a real cynic. He was the king of NUTS. If you believe in evolution and the Big Bang thneories then you are really in a fantasy land. Neither of those is even close to being a good scientific explanation of anything. There are more holes in those theories then you can ever hope to plug and nobody with any real thinking and a science degree has ever really believed either theory. I am sorry but GOD is a much better explanation than the two of them combined. I hope that you wake up soon... Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

People turn to religion because they need an identity or want to fit into a social structure. Same reason why people become a neo Nazi, a Wicca, a goth, or something else entirely. People are social creatures and for the most part want to fit into a social group. Be it the KKK or a religious congregation or a doomsday sect. People need to know they are here for a purpose. Otherwise we would have mass suicides and depression. Man would simply not be able to exist without it.
How do you think the world would be like if there was undeniable evidence that no higher being existed ..imagine that all religions was disproved beyond a shred of doubt. Would we have mass wars? suicides, Would we even try and keep our species alive by procreating with no meaning of life? That we exist for no other reason to exist. I don't think the human mind would be able to cope. Its a survival mechanism ..without it we wouldn't have made it this far
Talking about god,Satan or whatever is all irrelevant. They only exist in the minds of people unable to function without a belief or identity.
Having said that, i respect peoples beliefs even though i have my own opinion about why they have them in the first place. Whatever makes you a better person, I'm for it. Be it Christianity, Hare Krishna, Buddhism or other

What is Fantasy: dust miraculously becomes man, or man is created by a Being Who is more intelligent than him?
What is Fantasy: dust comes from nowhere to become all things, or each species is separately created by a Being Who is too huge for our physical eyes to see?
What is Fantasy: all comes from dust and ridiculously returns to dust, or a Creator makes it and ordains the building of an ever-advancing civilization?
In answering by option A, we need no learning. Just blindly imitate some so-called scientists and say it is natural.
In answering by option B, we need to learn and learn and learn... to realize that we are more advanced than our primitive ancestors, in all physical, intellectual and spiritual aspect, and we show due respect to our offsprings who will be more advanced than us.

Science cannot tell us how evolution started, nor can it tell us why the Big Bang occurred. It seems to me that the people who discount God because of [their version of] science are the ones living in the "fantasy land."

nicely, my specific faith (the way my group celebrates and practices it) is a skill by utilising which we include the skill of existence and dying, emotionally help one yet another, and supply intending to significant milestones in our individual and mutual stories. yet then, my faith is experiential and would not contain blind faith in dogma, yet rather basically creates a shape by utilising which a individual can study significant themes and take part in reverence for existence itself. So yeah...if that feels like "delusion" to you, then specific. by utilising the way, my faith is Wicca. marvel. it is not approximately "magic spells."
