My husband and I prayed to lead us to the church He wanted us to serve when we moved from home over a month ago. We prayed for a church that would believe in the Bible and not the "pie in the sky" prosperity gospel, the worship is so beautiful and people have such a hunger for God. We are so happy we are in this church.

The attitudes and teachings of the people. Currently unable to find a church that accepts me and teaches the bible pure and simple. I prefer a church where there is no grand poobah who thinks they have all the answers and doesn't allow for the questions that arise. Most churches follow a set schedule and allow no leading of the Holy Spirit. Sing. collect money, do rituals, preach, and rush home for the lunch or sports. Ask me how I am doing and not ready for an honest answer. Don't get me wrong I have been to churches where the people are warm and caring and they are usually disigned after the first century church, called home churches. No big bugets, programs, or shows. Where two or more are gathered.

Good question!
After I got saved, I was looking for a church that simply opens the Bible and teaches the Word of God with accuracy and integrity. It took a while, but I found an independent church that does just that. The first time I attended, I was very impressed with the preaching. I decided that as long as they would preach like that, I would keep going. 14 years later I finally decided to look around some more. I spent 3 years checking out other churches. Recently I went back home to one that is true to the Word.
The Bible is true, go where they truly teach the Bible. Not a place where they say they do but never have you open yours while you are in church.
Read Acts 17:11 and be a Berean!

Dee: Great question. Actually, I was drawn into a belief of God when I was about 12 years old. I eventually, withdrew from my Christian beliefs and embraced Atheism. Later on in life, about the age of 21 years, I had a desire to investigate the evidence on the existence of a Creator, based on a bet from some of my friends, against the popular sub-culture icons of Darwin's Evolutionary divergence, Sciences of Bio-science, Physics and traditional religion. It took me about 2 years to do the research and I came up with the evidence for a Creator winning out against Darwin, Haekel, etc. I found that the Evolutionary theory is one that is full of error when weighed against the Scientific measure of reason. Most people believe that this theory is accurate because a few scientists lean to it to prove how life evolved [divergence] . This is not anywhere near what people think it is. Some objective Scientific research will yeild some very humbling results to its believers. I then, proved the valiidity for a Devine Creator - the evidence is there if someone truly is looking for the Scientific evidence based on the Scientific method. Traditional religion has left the track when it comes to Godly evidence (it's getting better though). Many Christians or religious people believe in a God but can not prove it with evidence of His Devine presence. Once being an Atheist, I can see why religious people come across as ignorant. Back to your question. I came to be a Christian because God drew me to Him to have a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus. The church I attend is continually, changing and growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and I'm proud to be a member of it !

I asked them what they believed in.
I told them what I believe in.
Our beliefs coincided dramatically, and I felt lead by God to join them in assembly.
They help others in the community, they were looking for a conference host and teacher, and I am a conference host and teacher.
HOW IT CAME ABOUT:
I met a lady at a store in town and we began talking about God and our beliefs, and there in that tiny store God spoke to both of us that He had orchestrated our meeting for a Higher Purpose ... HIS Purpose for us to work together for Him.
I still attend the church and often sit under another minister to be fed the Word myself, and then at other times I minster and the other ministers sit under me to learn and be fed the Word.
It is so AWESOME!
God SPEAKS to us in such highly anointed services, and teens and adults all over town are beginning to come. Someone even said that when the anointing falls upon the building? There is a light that shines above it in our little rural Texas town, and when that happens and people attend we have healing and deliverance from drugs, sexual immorality, alcoholism and more, because of the great out pouring of the Holy Ghost (i.e. Holy Spirit) of God.
I don't want to attend ANY church that places a DAMPER on the Spirit of God, who stops the flowing of the Holy Ghost and stumps the spiritual growth of it's members. I have lived here a little over a year now, waiting for God to give me a church home. AND PRAISE GOD HE DID!!!
Amen?
Blessings, Love, and the Peace of God,
Jewel

My pastor invited me and I came. I feel God lead him to my door, and I'm so thankful I am going to a true, Bible believing church. Its so cool to be in a church where the Bible is preached. I am so blessed to have found this church.

Funny story. I prayed to our Heavenly Father for a church that would combine the laws of cycles (astrology for example) with that of the Christian church. So he put me in a biker church. God always gives us what we want. Don't tell him how to give it.

The church I go to unwaveringly teaches the core doctrines of Christianity, which are first and foremost, and I agree with most of the secondary, debatable doctrines they teach.
