i'm new to this water thing. i just started weight watchers, and of course, water is a big part of the regimen. so i'm drinking a half gallon a day, and i'm in restroom like twice an hour!

my question is, as this becomes a regular thing for me, eventually will my bladder adjust?

You will eventually adjust pretty well. You might find, however, that it doesn't take you very long to get thirsty during hot months should you be away from a water bottle; this is because your body has gotten used to having a constant supply of water handy during most times. Again, it's an adjustment. Soon having water onhand will become second-nature.

It's recommended to always stay as well-hydrated as possible to keep toxin levels down in your bladder and kidneys. Since you're urinating more, it means less concentrated urine, and less concentrated urine is easier on the linings of the excretory system. For dieters, water aids in the breakdown of carbohydrates, so the energy availible from the food you eat is well more ready for you to use. Dieting to lose weight always involves a reduction of overall calories in order to be effective, so the advantages of drinking extra water shouldn't be overlooked!

No. I've been drinking about 100oz of water daily for 2 years and I still go to the restroom every 20 min or so.

what ever your weight is you divide by 2 and drink that amount in ounces. that's according to the doc. Your body will adjust, until then you can not drink as much and slowly increase your amount.

ie 150 lbs/ 2 = 75

so you drink 75 oz.
