depends on by whom. Your friends may report contacts with investigators to you...if its just a records search you might not ever know. If youre up to something then when the hammer comes down.

Usually it's when a detective calls you about something or an officer talks to you in person. If you've done something big, be on the lookout for a suspicious white van sitting across or down the street.
