I'm in shock about these answers!!!! I get paid $8hr.
I mean people.. you are making below minumun wage to do the most important job of taking care of a child.
Do you really need $3-4.. think you are spending less time with your own children helping them learn educational type stuff and getting quality time.

I live in Minenesota and I used to be a nanny. Most recently, my toddler daughter and I went to another family's house for about 35 hours a week and they paid me $8 an hour. When I was a nanny, three years ago, I earned $11 an hour for one kid.
Daycare centers can charge less since they have more kids, but most cost more than $4 an hour if they have any sort of experiences and are licensed. I would even pay a fifteen year old babysitter more than $3-$4 dollars an hour and I only have one kid. Also, since you were there during the day, you probably did not get much of a break. Does the five year old take a nap?
You should tell them either 1) you should have them bring their child to your home and you can watch their child and your own at the same time. or 2) you can make more money doing daycare for a different family.
If they come to your home, they should be bringing all their own things like food and diapers and really even some toys.
Two kids, daytime hours, you are experienced and reliable. you should be getting AT LEAST $6. I wouldn't do it for less than $8.
If you want to do childcare, look into craigslist.com. I am sure you can find someone who would pay you more.

At least $7-8/hr. I pay $8-10/hr for evening babysitting for one 3 year old. I'd say $10 for your situation but since this is a "regular" gig and a relative then the hourly would be a little less. Are they at your house?? $3-4 is _really_ low for So Cal (I am here too). For example I pay $200/week for full day preschool (50 hrs a week) so maybe that gives some perspective to some of these other posters!

I think 30 was a fair price. I have watched my brothers kids for free and then a friend of mine of several years I watched her kids for $10 and we exchanged services for the same amount. To me it wasn't about the money as it was about doing something for my friend. Now if this was someone I hardly knew and it was a friend of a friend then I would have let them know what my fee was up front. I give $10 dollars for the 2 hrs and then 2.5 dollars there after. for the evening then I am usually gone for 4 hrs and I give $20. As far as telling them that you don't want to do this then just simply tell them it was too much for you. How ever if you feel $90 a week isn't enough then ask for a little more. In the past I have paid a licensed daycare worker $100 a week for full 5 days 9 hr days for one child. you have two kids one which has special needs....you might need more....but ask yourself if you can handle his needs. good luck

it extremely is effective as a start up. you're in basic terms 13. i can not have self assurance they aid you toddler take a seat those 2 babies. i might by no potential bypass away my babies with somebody who's decrease than 18. before everything, if something happens i do no longer think of which you're knowledgeable to help those babies out with CPR if needed. Secondly, they're leaving you with 2 babies. One newborn is adequate accountability. while you're babysitting on your man or woman protection and human beings who you babysit, confirm that they drop off the babies on your abode with food, diapers, etc. and confirm that an grownup is on your abode to assist you to in case there is an emergency. As of now, the ten dollars are lots. as quickly as you have suited coaching interior the abode, etc. you may ask your mum and dad to get you CPR classes approximately $50 for the lesson or inspect your community American go who in many circumstances holds the classes for loose. you will ought to get the youngster and toddler CPR. Then, with this records you may sell your self greater. you may ask for greater money and you will say, "i'm CPR knowledgeable (flash them your card)" and that they might experience greater have confidence and supply you greater money, optimistically.

How old are you? We pay $2/hour/kid to teens. We would have paid you $4 an hour unless the autistic child is so hard to deal with that he should count as 2 kids all by himself.

My sitter, who is licenced by the state, charges me $2 an hour per child. My sitter does get a food program from the state, but here, her price is the going rate.
