Have you tried using a LARGE roundbrush and doing a blow out. The key to smooth hair, no matter the type is a good blow out. Start with a smoothing product if your hair is dry steer clear of anything with alchohol. Matrix has a great slicker called sleek, if you are more of a drugstore type try Frizzease, I think its at most grocery and drug stores. Start with damp hair, and smooth large portions of your hair through your palms. Work in sections from the bottom up. Blow dry your hair and continue to roll with the roundbrush, this will smooth the cuticle and give it a sleek shiny finish, even if its temporary. The bonus is with a blowout you still keep the body! If you find your hair is still ratty looking try getting your ends trimmed! This makes more of a difference then you know. If you are pressed for time, try the frizzease (or other product) on dry hair with a flat iron. These can dry your hair out so use a good conditioner! If you start the same way, working in small sections from the base up with the flat iron youll get the same look but a little less body. Hopefully this helps!

Try a leave in conditioner when your hair is wet, or a mousse that will keep it shaped and not frizzy. Also a shine serum or anti frizz serum will work if you smooth it on while hair is still wet.
