Raising an unwanted child is a sin. Adoption is not an answer because the practice of raising unwanted children is expensive in human life. That is because raising an unwanted fetus costs at least $70,000 and the same money could be used to extend the life of 5 wanted and loved humans. To save one fetus is to kill 5 humans.
The strongest moral support for abortion is found in the phrase "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". It is moral to abort a fetus, if you would not want to be a burden in a similar situation. To do otherwise is a sin. I know that if I were the fetus of a rapist who was a multiple murderer I would not want to burden the raped woman with my life. For me the same can be said of being an unloved child, a child that forces my family into poverty or numerous other situations. But I realize some are not so unselfish. To them it is ok to be a selfish burden on everyone else. Pro lifers will force a fetus to life, though it kills 5 other humans.

I was raised backwoods, country boy, barefoot poor. At least till daddy "made it" with hard work. If I had been the cause of poverty, I would not have wanted to be alive. If the poverty were simply a course we followed naturally, then I would want to live. And that is the key. It is a personal decision that must be made by the mother. Woud my child be so unselfish that he would not want to be born in this situation. What would God think? Would God agree? Would God think it right for 5 to die to save me?

Hitler believed saving one German was worth killing several Jews. Pro lifers believe saving one fetus is worth killing 5 humans. So much for the Hitler anology.

Some pro lifers think that no one would sacrifice themselves to save others. Ask someone in the military if that is true.

Some pro lifers believe that it is foolish to think that we would spend 70000 dollars to save people if we had the money. Perhaps they should look at the IRS withholding in their paycheck. Maybe a look at the money spent by Churches would help. The only cold hearted haters that don't share their wealth are themselves. I share, we share, they don't share.

Quotes such as "he knew you in the womb" simply support abortion because the same God that said these things aborted and miscarried the fetus he was writing about. It is God that invented abortion. To say it is murder is to say that God is a murderer. To say that the pro life group are murderers is fact.

To insinuate that removing a fetus is murder is foolish. When God removes a fetus, he does not kill the soul. If you have proof otherwise, then please post it.

kforesman: Its all about you isn't it. My family is American Indian, Irish, French and other "breed". If you think raising your child is the most important thing on earth, you are selfish. It is more important to save 5 and let a fetus go than to save a fetus and kill 5. The fact that you cannot see that speaks volumns about you. To raise a child already born, as you have done is honorable. But to give birth knowing that others would die is dishonorable, assuming the person knew that. And that is where the pro life movement is deceitful. They hide the fact that they are committing murder and sucker innocent people in. To do as you have done is honorable, to give birth when it is wrong is not honorable.

I agree with your position but not so much based on financial arguments as on more practical levels. Bringing a child into the world is a serious step and to do so without the means to properly protect and raise that child is irresponsible. To get pregnant without the intention or means to raise a child is irresponsible. Having made the irresponsible mistake of becoming pregnant under these conditions it is even more irresponsible to do nothing about it and to continue with the birth. Abortion is the lesser of two evils.

My God man!....do you also burn crosses on people's front lawns....I never read such trash in my life...

just for the record...My late husband and I adopted an infant boy 21 years ago...his birth mother was a white 16 year old girl and the natural father was a 19 yr old black man...when we looked at him for the first time, we didn't see $$$ signs on what is would cost to raise him or whether or not his natural mother should have aborted him...we saw him for what he was... a perfect little baby boy who has now grown up to be a good man...and this world is a better place for him being in it.....I praise his natural mother for seeing it through and giving birth to him...it must have been against all odds...she must have been quite a special young lady......that's what I see...not your kind of twisted brain dead reasoning....I feel sorry for you !!!

edit:
My late husband was part Pottawatomie Indian and Irish Catholic...I am English and Scottish..so we adopted a 1/2 white and 1/2 black baby boy....how can this be selfish? We called ourselves the "rainbow" family...I don't seek honor for this and I don't think I need to be set apart .. Your thinking is still 2 dimensional and clouded by statistics....so what you are saying is.... my son was "allowed" to be born alive....and in doing so, his birth killed 5 people? Rubbish! I do agree that there are many unloved and unwanted births....however, one cannot "lump" all into a category of 1 vs. 5.....it is individual, it is sacred and blame can not be included in this picture. To do so would be horrifically unfair and callous. God is NOT so small as to be boxed into a
"1 vs. 5" justification......to do so is an insult. So what is the answer?....More abortions...more births.....no...neither...the only answer is God's answer....one must seek God as an individual for faith in provisions for the future and to bring about the right choice according to that individual. If this is done, then any arguments for or against life are incidental and nominal....for only God's answer really matters and is the real Truth....

I can't remember the last time I read something so devoid of compassion.

EDIT: Please present evidence that for every abortion prevented five living children die. God is the omnipotent, eternal Creator and He knows every detail of the past, present and future of every person ever conceived. He is the sovereign Lord of all creation and when He takes a life He has good cause, because He is by definition goodness. When you have similar credentials maybe I'll listen to you concerning who gets to live and who needs to die. It is not selfishness that motivates pro lifers, but a deference to the sovereignty of God and the sanctity of human life. Fall on your knees before a just and merciful God and pray that He gives you a heart of flesh to replace that cold, rough stone crumbling in your chest. If you aren't playing the Devil's advocate, then you are indeed the Devil's advocate.

What kind of arguement is that! Is a person in a crisis pregnancy going to donate 70K to orphans instead? What child or adult do you know who was placed in a difficult family situation wishes they had been aborted? Only one with major depression I think.

Unborn children are not yet developed and are dependent on their mothers for their every need, just as born infants are not completely developed (until they reach their late teens) and are dependent on adults. Only the most morally deranged individual would say it's the mother's choice whether or not to kill her born child. What makes unborn children different? My youngest son was born nearly 2 months early. He was perfect. He could breath on his own and needed no special medical intervention. He will start kindergarten in August. Recently a baby born at 21 weeks came home from the hospital, but many abortions happen after 21 weeks gestation. Why is that okay?

"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully
and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be."
Psalm 139:13-16 of David

It is clearly brutal reasoning with imaginary and distorted statistics.
A fetus is already a human being; he is not something to be raised like a chicken. That fetus may become a humanitarian who is thousand times more respectful and useful to the human society than the advocates of abortion.
No, there are definitely no good reasons to justify the killing of innocent and helpless human beings. The society must think of better means to protect the girl, the fetus...and educate them to become rational beings who can learn to preserve a society of love, purity and knowledge.

You truly believe that murder is the answer to an unwanted pregnancy? I relly think that you are SICK. GOD does not intend for us to murder others. The money that you speak of would not be given to those 5 children anyway. For the most part those who would murder their "unwanted fetus," CHILDREN are cold blooded Killers and are not worthy of eating at the same table as most of us. They should be given life-long prison sentences and then sent to hell. I hope that what you have said does not affect some young lady that I know. They certainly do not deserve to become KILLERS as a result of a satanist's talk.

Thanks, but NO thanks,

I agree with you in the sense that forcing someone to give life, can in turn give that child a horrible life.
If, as many religions think, we have a soul which is placed in that body, does that soul not become recycled anyways?
I believe that children should only be born if they are wanted and the parents are able to take care of them. Otherwise you risk having the child grow up in a setting that is not good and often times the child ends up being underdeveloped and not able to offer society what it should.
I'm completely pro-choice and believe it is up to the person who is having the child.
I for one, would have an abortion at this stage of life because I would not want a child to have any less than they should, and I cannot provide that.

k well im not taking the time to read all that becuase that is just insane, but i'm guessing that your against abortion, i think.. anyways, i think that abortion is good becuase we are to overpopulated and i think having less people on earth is really good, and lets say a 15 year old gets pregant, if that kid is born then the mother will probably not be able to support the child that well, and the kid wil be stressed out knowing its mother was just 15 when she had him/her. And i think that if you just end the life before it begins, then it saves suffering. To be honest, i dont think fetus's can feel anything. I mean, i dont remember anything before the age of 5 so how could somthing that hasnt even been born feel pain.

Hey justify it however you have to but if it weren't for reproductive freedom, parents would be forced to raise hopelessly sick and genetically flawed children, women would be forced to raise a child who every day reminds them that they were raped, young girls would have their entire futures alterred for the worse, and the cycle of child abuse and poverty will go on forever unbroken. Abortion gives people (mostly women) control over their lives, and that can't be a bad thing. Did you ever wonder if the average Bible thumping protestor has ever adopted a crack baby? Because if they aren't willing to do that they have no right to protest.

Human life is NOT disposable! Would YOU like to be disposed of because YOU were an inconvenience? What's next? Toddlers if you are not satisfied with them or want to do something else with your selfish life?
May God forgive you!
