I have never believed that you can disprove anything to anyone who believes full heartily in something or someone. Getting into the "god" "no god" debate with anyone who is religious is pointless. I've found that saying "I believe there is no 'god' and you believe otherwise, my conviction is as strong as yours and we will never meet in the middle" usually ends any evangelistic preaching that is being shoved down my throat.

Me, I'd say the power relations behind the dogmatic rhetoric. Just look into the history of the Catholic Church, or heck, any religion... you'll see that those who benefit materially from it most are those at the top if the institutional hierarchy. They set the paradigm of proper behavior for the religious worshippers, and they get the money... kinda convenient. Now that just points to the suspicious nature of organized religion, not of a god itself, but since the idea of God (or any god in any religion) was proposed by an organized religion, I'd say that makes the idea itself very suspect. Ok, so that's not a disproof, but you can't disprove unicorns either, you can just point out the utter lack of proof. Same with god.

Let's clear this question up for both sides of the argument. There is really only one way to prove or disprove the existance of God or not. DIE!!! That is the only way to truly know. The rest is subjective and only a matter of faith unless you have had direct contact and that is subjective. If you die maybe you can be the first to send definitive proof either way. All else is words.

To answer your second question: The best argument against the existence of a deity is: "Why won't god heal amputees?" (I think there's a website by that name.)
To answer your first question: There's no need to _disprove_ the existence of anything. The burden of proof is on those making the assertion. To use an example from the funny pages, nobody has to disprove the existence of the Great Pumpkin; it's up to Linus to prove it, since he's the one who insists that it exists.
Unless he'd really rather sit alone in the pumpkin patch all night, which is all he's done so far!

All logical arguments for God are circular and assume the thing they are trying to prove.
This is why Christians come to God through the gift of faith rather than logic. God is a person and unfortunately He only takes Person to person calls and human being must call collect, He pays for the call or He won't pick up the phone.

Change the universe, cause the Sun not to shine, Prove evolution,
God exist through the evident demonstration of the realities that exist around us. Mankind can not create a single thing.
He can build, make, design, invent, grow, change things, but he needs the creation around him to do so.
Sincerely yours,

Being the agnostic that I am I don't think you can prove or disprove god. Kant made some good arguments against so called proofs that god existed, but I don't really think anyone can prove or disprove god.

Hello Nick.. :)
That if god was real he would show himself, so we all could believe..the reason he doesn't show himself, is because he is nothing more than a fairy tale..
Yep..that is what I used to tell everyone..until He did show Himself to me..when no one could not give me a simple answer, on how to change my life for the better..
God changed my life and my family for the better..
He has blessed me with abundance and still does..For He is my Provider, my Helper, my Protector, my Deliverer, my Saviour..He is my Friend.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)
