No, spirit doesn't come forward with an itch that I've heard of. Spirit embraces. There is a feeling of pressure. It's unmistakable.
Maybe you are the exception and this is how you are being approached by spirit? I certainly had strange approaches before. And if you think this is a form of contact then it very well could be. I dismissed my weird contacts for awhile.
You have to go with what you feel is right. Spirit is always trying to get our attention and through means they hope we'll recognize. They are clever and even humorous. And if you want to know who is approaching you, just ask. You'll be given another sign or clue as to who it is.

If a spirit is touching you there will be a cold sensation in the area in which they are touching you. So if your hand is being held it will feel as if it's being held but only with a cool to cold sensation to it. It's a feeling like no other.

but it may be circulation etc
and there is the old superstition about money
but hey thats not to say that spirit dont hold your hand at times :o)
