I am looking at different sites offering vacation plastic surgery and I don't know which one I should really trust. I know that brazil has the best surgeons mostly trained by Yvo Pitangy but could other countries such as India or Bolivia offer the same quality? My budget being limited, I want to get the cheapest one but don't want to be botched. I am concerned about the after care, the safety of the country, the ethic of the doctors and staff and, of course, the quality of the results. If anybody from the US had it done this way, please give me info about which country did you chose and show pics, that would help.

I'd say Brazil. Brazilians are well known for making a cult of their body. The other countries don't have that reputation. That doesn't mean they are not good. I guess it would also depend on the surgeon (I'm sure the best surgeons in India / Bolivia are better than the worst Brazilian surgeons).
It will also depend on the type of surgery. If it is for nose surgery, probably any of those countries would be OK, while maybe you should excercise more care with other surgeries. In any case, try to do your research and get familiar with the north american standards and options for your surgery, e.g. if it is a breast augmentation, there are silicone-filled implants or saline solution-filled implants, also the implant can be placed in front or behind the chest muscles, etc.

I would have to say Brazil without question. Since Ivo Pitanguy, the father of modern cosmetic surgery was Brazilian, his legacy lives on in his native land where Plastic Surgery is performed per capita more than any other nation (yes, even LA!). Some of it may not be strictly ethical in my opinion (eg Breast augments and rhinoplasties in 15 year olds), but the skills are definitely there.
Bolivia and India do not have the same history, and so surgeons are not as closely regulated as in Brazil. In fact, I recently reoperated on a lady who went for a cheap tummy-tuck in India and who had the operation botched by a general surgeon.
Make sure the surgeon is specifically plastics trained, and not a general surgeon with some plastics experience.
As a general rule, I would advise strongly AGAINST vacation surgery. If anything goes wrong, it is you who foots the bill back home for any corrective surgery (which is invariably more expensive). Even worse, in the UK it has been the NHS who foots the bill at tax payers expense!
If it seems too cheap to be true it probably is.

Easy - decide your priorities first!. If first priority is health and surgery trust professionals into health care - not agents. If its is tourism trust a travel agent or a vacation agent who may also be acting as an agent for a given health acre organization.
