For my August wedding ceremony I went with royal blue, silver and white. My sister even have been given married in August and had a floral topic, so she did not have any particular colorings. The bridesmaids wore a similar suitable and had periwinkle, sage and comfortable pink skirts that have been offered as seperates from David's Bridal.

Good thought on avoiding those colors. If you are getting married in a church, check with the alter guild or minister to see what color the alter hangings will be, my guess is red or white and depending on the church, most CANNOT be changed to suit the bride.
It is going to be HOT, so you may want to avoid dark colors How about shades of the same color, different hues of blue or lavender? Silver/gray would be pretty with lavender roses. Or, all pastel colors, and let the bridemaids choose their best color. All white is very pretty too.
Consult with the bridesmaids and look through LOTS of catelogs. Good luck!

I was married in August of last year. I had apple red and white as an accent color. Also some pinks and light oranges in the bouqets. I would just go with your favorite color and something that accents it nicely. I love red so thats why I chose that color. Plus with red I got to serve Candy apples as guest favors. It was my favorite color so I got to make it fit in perfectly with my personality and my wedding. Just pick the color you like and it will work with your wedding.

I did Lime Green, Bright Organge and Hot Pink in August. Stuff that people may see more of in Spring, not that fall dreary stuff.
