I've seen "chair force", "Air Farce". Are these people jealous because they aren't in the Air Force or do they really think the Air Force has desk jobs? Is there anyone out there that is tired of hearing this? My hubby is AF, is a crew chief, and works 12 hour days and 6 day work weeks! Some desk job! Why do people think AF doesn't deploy? My hubby's been in Iraq 3 times (he's there now). He goes for 4 months, comes home for 2 weeks and then leaves again. I always tell my 3 year old that If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Seems like some people on this forum should take that advice!

I love the Air Force. GO AIR FORCE!

This may be in response to my previous statement. I apologize for being hurtful. It was meant as good natured rivalry.
It has a little history behind it. Anyway, if it wasn't for the AF I could not have been flown in to Iraq to serve my Country. And my buddy would not have been flown out to be with his wife while she had pregnancy complications.
Don't take it too seriously. Everyone from a trash collector to a General serves a purpose.

JS lol when I talked to the AF recruiter and he told me the AF field exercise included A/C. I asked him if he was serious. Then joined the Army ;)
Please note that I made fun of the Army too. I reenlisted twice. I like to clean toilets ;)

I don't think that the Air Force is a bunch of pansies. Yes there are some there but not the guys who are crew chiefs on the flight lines. My dad was in the Air Force for 22 years and he loved it. I would never think that he was a pansy. It is objective thinking because I was in the Army for some years and I saw my dad work harder than I did and I was in the Infantry. There are cushy jobs, and then there are the nitty gritty too tough to do but somebody has to do it jobs. Being a crew chief is one of those.

I'm in the navy and in Iraq right now. They are just silly names and the air force does their share of it too. Everyone who is in the military know that is all in good fun and doesn't take it one bit seriously. The reason they get called the chair force ect., is because the most always have nice accomadations. Out here in iraq is no different, they all have free wireless internet in their places and have the weekends off ect. It is just the other branches being jealous becuase we do not get treated as well.
The name calling is all in good fun, ask your husband, he will tell you the same thing.

Yes your hubby does work hard. But he also gets clean sheets and a nice bed to sleep in. Even the Air Force tents are better equipped. I heard the same stuff when I was in the Air Force. I worked long hours and 9 day weeks. But as an Airman I had my own room and my own phone. Who cares. We are all on the same side. The trade off is that the army promotes faster.

We just get treated a hell of alot better than the other services. I have been in 14 years and also am a Crew Chief, and wouldn't have it any other way. I chalk it up to jealousy, but who knows. Definitely not a desk job. And plus some might be butt hurt because the Air Force is the hardest to get into and they just didn't make the cut. My 2 cents for ya!

I would never make fun of the US Air Force. If those missiles pointed our way from Iran would even begin to take flight, it would be the US Air force that would intercept and protect this country. Make Fun?/ Nooooo way !!! The US Air Force has and deserves the utmost respect !!! Go, Flyboys !!! You are # 1 and we love you !!! I salute your husband and his fellow soldiers. Won't your three year old have wonderful stories to pass on to his own three year old one day about Grandpa???

I have nothing but admiration and respect for anybody that dons the uniform in service of their country. There is a lot of inter-service rivalry; each member thinks that their branch is the best. I have been in the Army and am now in the Air Force, and I have friends in all the branches. We just mess around with each other. The truth is that we all realize that each branch has its assigned mission, and that we are all glad that each of us is doing our part.

My Uncle was a short-colonel in the USAF, so I get to pick on 'em, one good friend was an ego-driver (instructor pilot no less!) too...

But they ARE the baby-service though - they're the youngest. So naturally our baby brothers get picked on!!

PERCEPTIONS:
Soldier, standing post in a poncho in the rain: "THIS SUCKS!"
Airborne, wading through swamp in the rain, grinning "I LOVE the way this sucks!"
Airborne Ranger, up to neck in swamp in the rain, snake in teeth, wild expression on face, "I WISH IT WOULD SUCK EVEN MORE!"
Army Aviator in Apache in rain: "Boy, it really looks like it sucks down there."
USAF Airman, in lounge chair, in barracks, popcorn in lap, rain outside, waving remote at TV: "The CABLE'S OUT?! This SUCKS!" :-D :-P

Nothing but love for the Air Force - I'd bet there's nothing better to see if you're a grunt than an A-10 coming up over your shoulder when you see enemy tanks, bunkers, or troop formations.

Hooah!

New Branch Slogans:
ARMY STRONG!
AIR FORCE SMART!
NAVY NICE!
Marines...Better. LOL

(Go Air Force!)

You'll never see me make fun of any American military. I was in the Marines and I had a brother in the Army, another brother in the Air Force, my father was in the Merchant Marines and I had an uncle who died when his submarine sunk in WWII.

Anyone in the military is a hero in my book no matter which branch.

Well, I agree with you. The Air Force ROCKS!!! ,and the idiots making fun of it don't know how it is being in the Airforce. I mean those guys risk their life every time they take off on sortie. So I guess you could say they're nimwits whom don't know anything.
