Not all non-believers who post to this Forum are hate-mongers. And some self-professed Christians seem to have left the love reservation when judging some of their responses. I will confine my remarks below only to those that act badly.
For both of these types of persons, it is interesting and sad to see how some persons will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer. As an "old guy" I have occasionally acted irresponsibly in my youth, so I can relate, but only up to a point. It is also readily apparent these persons would be ashamed if they knew their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of what they write herein. They do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.
The questions and answers one sees in this forum all too often represent a triumph of flippancy over rigor. These flippant persons that post ad hominem, obnoxious, vitriolic items obviously have not formally studied the matters being asked for several years. Rather they enjoy mockery and proving that they really have no value to add to the answer and too much wasted time on their hands.
The best solution I can recommend for you is to ignore their vapid questions or comments. It is very easy to scan past them and focus your eyes on the substantive and cogent items. If you spend enough time in this Forum the persons prone to ill manners become known quickly, enabling the ignoring of their wasted efforts even easier.
Just keep asking questions in an objective manner and you will sometimes get useful responses. I try to answer questions so structured with reasoned theological, philsophical, and logical responses.

so you think that 'edgey' = 'sad/depressed/angry/ otherwise drifting in life.' i think a lot of people actually associate 'edgy' with 'satirical, pointed, intelligent, skeptical, honest about the fact that the world ain't all roses.'
some 'edgy' people might be sad or depressed... but so are a lot of people who believe in god... lol.
i don't know, do you think the avatar 'somebody' is 'edgey'? To me it sounds more like I am a character in Thomas More's Utopia... lol

Possibly, but it could just be saying something about those willing to post acidic messages period. I've seen some pretty wacky profiles (at least from my perspective) coming from those posting vehemently in favor of Christianity (or condemning Atheists)

Define "edgey" ... which is spelled *edgy* by the way ... Merriam Webster defines it as "having a bold, provocative, or unconventional quality".
So living without god leads to new thinking and creativity. How terrible.

1. Define "putting down."
2. Define "edgy."
I am not Christian, and sometimes I get angry at excesses that are excused by Christianity, such as a doctor turning away a child patient because her mother had visible tattoos, and saying he needed to do this as a Christian. Where's my edge?

So people who don't follow your religion have cool names and avatars, is that what you are saying? Sweet.

Have you noticed that you just made a sweeping blanket statement which is bound to be wrong and a fallacy of hasty generalization? Oh.

How judgmental!
I have no aversion to Jesus or Christianity, but I don't agree with you.
