I diet and exercise and all I do is gain weight, I got blood work done and I have hypothyroidism and I have been prescribed synthroid. Should it help me lose weight? Of course I know I still have to diet and exercise but for any synthroid users did it facilitate the process?

Well... my thyroid function was nearly non-existant so diet and exercise didn't help. Taking synthyroid combined with diet/exercise, I lost 100 lbs. No lie.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 12 years old. Synthroid fixes the balance of your hormones in your thyroid, but it does not automatically make you lose weight although it might seem like it. I believe it does help, but the best thing is to diet and excercise. Ofcourse I was still young when I was diagnosed therefore I didn't gain much wieght and the wieght that I did gain was lost after about 8 months.

I take Synthroid too. Only get some weight loss if I vigorisly exercise and diet. But, before I was taking it, no matter how much I dieted or exercised, I still gained weight. So at least now its a better balance.

I'm hypothyroidic too. Synthroid saved my life (I was VERY depressed and sleeping 12 h a day) but I, too, have gained alot of weight since I began taking it. I eat very little and am moderately active. As a biologist, my weight gain makes no sense to me since one would think that synthroid would increase my metabolism. My doctor says that I am in denial and that I need to diet and exercise more. I used to be a heavy drinker but when my depression lifted, I had no more desire for drink....that alone cut out alot of empty calories in my diet but I still gain weight (from a muscular 235 lbs to 285 lbs in a few years!). Very frustrating!!!

I found I was somewhat less tired when I began taking Synthroid. Other than that it seems about the same, but I have heard if they prescribe too much it facilitates weight loss.

You had a coach advise rawhide? rather? Rawhide can bring about extreme intestinal blockages if swallowed entire. Ditch the rawhide and choose for a actual, uncooked bone. based upon the chewing potential, you additionally can attempt a rubber kong bone, or nylabone. some human beings keep away from the nylabones as nicely by way of fact they're made with a plastic compound that's additionally no longer digested by utilising canines yet while your canines would not attempt to chew off vast chunks...it could be superb. in addition they make a "healthful edbiles" version of their bones, yet i stumble on they do no longer final long. different ideas are the budda bones that are cornstarch based and dissolve interior the digestive tract. With my canines, i'm partial to a uncooked meaty bone and a kong full of treats.

You may be one of those people who do better on a natural thyroid medication -- ask your dr if Armour thyroid or a similar medication would be an acceptable alternative for you.
